'The Original Bungalow,' part of the @boutiquerentals_' collection, is a Scandi-inspired renovated bungalow surrounded by stunning trees. Located only 2 hrs from NYC, Smallwood is a destination in itself: walk along the lake, waterfall, or take the canoe or SUPs for a paddle. Nearby are Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, breweries, galleries, Livingston Manor & cute Delaware River towns with dining+shopping. In the evening, unwind by the firepit or curl up by the fireplace with a book or movie.
I live in Brooklyn, New York, but I am available via messaging or by phone. I also have a local property manager who can help if needed.
We love Smallwood - a friendly and quiet lake community with many cute little log cabins from the 1930s and 40s. We have a lake, waterfall, forest reserve with hiking trails, outdoor gym, post office, and restaurants (one is only open seasonally) within walking distance from the bungalow.
This area of the Catskills offers every outdoor activity imaginable including swimming, hiking, canoeing, boating, tubing, rafting, fishing, cycling, ziplining, horseback riding, bird watching, apple picking, snowtubing, skiing, and snowboarding.
The cabin is only a short drive from Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the Museum at Bethel Woods, the original Woodstock site, buzzy design haven Livingston Manor, Resorts World Catskills, Holiday Mountain (skiing/tubing and 'fun park' with rock climbing, go carts, etc.), Legoland, Lake Superior State Park, the Catskills Craft Beverage Trail, great restaurants, cute shops and antique stores, harvest festivals, holiday markets, farms (kids usually love the alpacas!), farmers markets, New York State's largest indoor waterpark Kartrite, Forestburgh Playhouse, Kadampa Meditation Center New York, Monticello Raceway, Monticello Motor Club Off-Road Adventure, as well as picturesque river towns Callicoon and Narrowsburg.
You can check in and out by yourself with our keyless entry. You will be issued an access code for the duration of your stay - no keys to lose or return.
The easiest way to reach The Original Bungalow is by car, but it is possible to go via public transit from the NYC area as well. Take the Short Line Bus from Port Authority in Manhattan to Monticello's Short Line Terminal or Resorts World Catskills. From there, you'd have to take a taxi to the bungalow (under 15 minutes).
