Welcome to this cozy, older property on Ærø. Buevej is an old farmhouse and therefore not perfect, but it is very charming and a wonderful place to live and vacation. It is located in the heart of Søby, with two beaches, shopping, culture, and more nearby. A lovely place with a few minor flaws here and there.
The owner is an artist, so as a guest, you will also see the owner's own artworks throughout the house.
The house has been renovated with respect for the old structure, so many reused elements have been used. All the furniture has been specially purchased for the house – and everything is either antique or used.
Not many things have been changed in the house, as they still function – maybe not as well as brand new, but they work. This also applies to the electrical appliances, which are a bit old but work, as does the bathtub. The owner believes in using appliances as long as possible to save resources.
Overall, the effort has been to create a house that is as comfortable as possible, but also as sustainable as possible. The house has no major issues but does have some minor imperfections.
Everything has been checked and functions in the house – and remember, it is also a very cheap house to rent – and it is also cheap because the costs are low due to the way the owner has organized the house.
There is only a wood stove and a few electric radiators if it gets chilly.
If you want to live sustainably, cozily, close to the beach and nature, and centrally in the metropolis of Søby, then this summer house is the right place for you.
