English Run Rental House

Enjoy your stay at English Run Rental House which is a unique, cozy, farmhouse, nestled in a magical valley in the Driftless area.

The Space
English Run Rental House has 2 bedrooms on the main level (each with a queen size bed) and 2 bedrooms upstairs (each with a full size bed). One and ½ bathrooms are located on the main level. Enjoy a fully equipped, eat in kitchen, separate dining room, and living room. Full size washer and dryer are included. Enjoy watching the wildlife, while drinking coffee on the patio. Grill out and enjoy dinner on one of the patios or visit one of the local bars/restaurants for a delicious meal. End the day with smores around the firepit!

The Location
At English Run Rental House, enjoy serene country living, minutes from all the activity and amenities you need. Need to work remotely? High speed internet is provided for you to keep up with work, but you have the quiet location to focus. Want to be off the grid and not work? No problem!

Enjoy access, within walking distance, to English Run Trout stream. Knapps Creek, a trout stream, is accessible 1/4 mile down the road. Fish the Kickapoo River at the dam in Gays Mills, or mosey over to the Mississippi for unlimited fishing opportunities.

Bring your boat and launch on the Mississippi at one of the Public Boat Landings in Lynxville, WI, Prairie du Chien, WI, or Lansing IA. When you return home, a fish cleaning station has been provided.

Public Hunting Land, with access, is located just minutes up the road.

Feel free to bring your UTV/ATV and enjoy 650 miles of road trails in Crawford County. There is plenty of room for you to park your trailer.

Snowmobile Trails intersect Hwy 171 nearby.

Ride your motorcycle through the scenic, rolling hills of The Driftless Area.

There is plenty of room to park your boat, UTV/ATV, snowmobile, or motorcycle trailer.

Visit the Apple Orchards in Gays Mills. Springtime is great for Apple Blossoms. Fall is great for Apple Fest, apples, fall leaves, and apple products! There is not a season in this area that you won’t enjoy this space!

Wonderful country property!
Our group of 8 adults stayed on the property after kayaking the Kickapoo. There was plenty of room for all of us. Had a bonfire and could see all the stars in the open view. Breakfast on the patio overlooking the barns was so peaceful. There were lots of thoughtful touches like having spices/seasonings for cooking and coffee pods. We would stay there again!

A Gem in an Emerald Setting
English Run Rental House is a large, well maintained farmhouse surrounded by greenery. All the amenities are there. Plenty of space inside and outside. We had a great time relaxing on the back yard deck, in the comfortable living room, and around the dining room table. A perfect spot.

Lots of room for everyone daughter in law left early due to ni e dropping in the bedroom upstairs. This place needs a good cleaning. The kitchen is very easy to to cook in.

Beautiful, comfortable stay that comes ready with everything you need!
I was pleasantly surprised by this house and the beautiful property it’s on! The owners are very responsive, but stay off-property and have an easy check-in process. Though, do know that it is a working farm! In the mornings, someone would come by to tend to the corn field, but it was actually quite pleasant and enjoyable to observe! It wasnt loud or intrusive at all, and didn’t last long. There’s also a very charming hunting cabin at the top of a hill behind the home with a hiking path to it! The best part of the home was how well-stocked they kept it! There were plenty of clean towels, linens, blankets, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and a stocked kitchen and coffee bar. We were able to bring our food and cook it at the property, including on the outdoor grill they have available! It was very spacious and comfortable, they even had board games and movies available to watch. The wifi was fast and reliable (and necessary since there’s no cell service out there). This is the perfect getaway if you want peace, privacy, and time to explore nature or enjoy time in a cabin-like home. You’re smack dab in a beautiful part of bluff country, with nearby access to the Kickapoo and Wisconsin rivers. Plenty of opportunity to plan days out at some of the best natural parks that Wisconsin has to offer!

Relaxing stay at a roomy, clean, beautiful home with a breathtaking view on a secluded lot! Great place to stay to recharge your batteries before returning to reality. Entire booking process was smooth. Great communication with hosts! Can't say enough great things!

Working Get Away
We enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. Our puppy loved being able to explore the farm. The area is very quiet and relaxing. We appreciated the amenities. My only wish is that the wifi bandwidth had been higher for work meetings. It was fine for checking email and browsing social media. I would consider staying here again if I am in the area again in the future.

This is a cozy house with a beautiful location! The Hosts were great to work with and the house was very roomy and very clean! If you have a large group looking for a place to relax and enjoy time together outside or in, this is the perfect spot for you!

Secluded with hiking and fishing available.
This is an older farmhouse, clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for 3 separate couples to do their own thing if desired. Beautiful property and scenery with lots of outdoor activities to participate in. Just a heads up there is a $25 per person fee for over four guests.

Comfort in a beautiful setting. So many outdoor activities available. But I was sick the entire time and could barely get outside. I still had a wonderful time watching spring arrive and listening to the birds, frogs and stream.

Very kind and considerate hosts. Very easy to reach them and they are very responsive. This is clearly their secondary home and they take good care of it. It is not a commercial venture for them and they are obviously very proud of their property and it shows.
