Sandy Shores 107 Side Unit on the Beach

This condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This unit is fully updated with rich granite and cabinets through-out. New furniture in the living room really brings a contemporary coastal feel to this condo. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and a walkout door directly to the patio. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds. The living room and both bedrooms have flat screen TVs.

Bed linens and bath towels are provided for 6 guests. Sandy Shores is directly on the beach so walk right down and put your toes in the sand.

Coin operated laundry is available on each floor.

As a John's Pass Condo's guest you will have access to our office services such as printing boarding passes, sending and receiving faxes. We also have on site maintenance to handle repairs in your condo if necessary. Come and enjoy the beautiful beach and the attractions which include John's Pass Village and Boardwalk with its many shops, cafe, restaurants, fishing charters directly across the street from our condos, via a protected crosswalk. This is a non smoking accommodation.

There is one assigned parking spot available for this unit.

Disappointed
First, we had to wait for three hours to get checked in because the property manager did not send us an email telling us how to check in. Then, the space itself had not been cleaned, the bed said not been made, and there was leftover food in the refrigerator. Vrbo was extremely unhelpful, with their only suggestion being that I spend more money to rent another place and then I would be reimbursed. Not to do that, and luckily, we finally got into the dirty apartment.

POOR CLEANING, FULL OF DUST AND MILDEW
THE EXPERIENCE AT THE PROPERTY WAS UNPLEASANT. THE PROPERTY WAS FULL OF DIRT AND DUST. THE KITCHEN APPLIANCES, RANGE AND MICROWAVE WHERE FULL OF CRUMBS, THE REFRIGERATOR HAD FOOD STAINS, THE FLOOR WAS DIRTY AND SANDY. NOT ENOUGH TOWELS AND SOME EVEN HAD HOLES IN IT. THE MASTER BATHROOM FLOOR WAS FULL OF HAIR. ALSO, THE LAMPS AND THE FAN IN THE MASTER BEDROOM ARE FULL OF DUST. THE BEDDING SHEET DIDN'T HAD A PLEASANT SMELL (LIKE THEY DIDN'T WASHED IN A WHILE). THE SOFA BED SHEET HAS STAINS AND CRUMBS AS WELL. THE ENTIRE APARTMENT SMELL LIKE HUMIDITY WHICH IS HARMFULL FOR THE HEALTH OF THE GUESTS. IT IS VERY UNFORTUNATE BECAUSE THE PROPERTY IS WELL LOCATED AND VERY SPACIOUS FOR THE ENJOY OF FAMILIES. POOR CLEANING AND POOR COMMUNICATION WITH THE ADMINISTRATOR.

Great location
The place was nice. The location was perfect. You can walk to a lot of things from there. right on the beach as described. Didn’t really have to deal with the property manager much. We received check-in instructions and on The second to last day there was a power outage. But it was for multiple units and was rectified after a couple of hours. I would stay there again. It was a holiday weekend and for that price to be reasonable.

Our stay
The location of the property is wonderful. The condo was a little outdated and could use a few upgrades. The condo sleeps six but they only gave us enough towels for 4 and only 4 washcloths. There wasn’t any beach towels either. The property manager was very hard to get in touch with. I had a few questions before I arrived and he never got back to me. I had to call VRBO to ask why I was not getting any response.

Terrible experience
The condo was very dated and not clean. The sheets were stained so I went and bought new sheets and pillows for the beds so my kids would sleep in them.toilets ran the whole time. The freezer made loud noises the dumpsters were over flowing and smelled real bad they were trying to charge us for parking which was included the pool was freezing which when we book we were told it was heated overal missed advertisied

Girls Trip 2022
We only needed a quick weekend stay to start our Girls Trip 2022 off. The air conditioner wasn't working correctly when we arrived but the office responded quickly and we were cooled down before bed time. The location to the beach was absolutely perfect with only a few steps from the room and we had our toes in the ocean. The unit was clean and looked to be getting updated with new flooring and wall paint. We would definitely book this unit again in the future.

Great location…. Just park and relax
The staff was great. The condo is in the beach and features an outdoor pool that overlooks the beach. We could walk to John’s Pass to shop or to try one of the tasty restaurants. There are two public parking lots if you have friends want to meet you.

Great Location, Grimy & Unkept Apartment
We take a beach vacation every year & also rent condos or apartments. This is a great location right off the beach & across the street from a shopping / restaurant / marina. Also within walking or short driving distance to other nice locations. The apartment itself is the issue... The pictures posted must be very old because it was very run down, furniture was old and torn up, water damage in some places and God forbid you walk barefoot because your feet will be black! Pillows were disgusting and even the air filter for the HVAC system had probably not been changed in at least a year. (Yes, I have pictures!) If you stay, I would definitely take your own towels since they only give you a total of 4, pillows & cleaning supplies for sure! Also, be ready to use the local laundromat because the washer & dryer are old & washer didn't work. There are many other locations nearby for the same price or less that looked just as nice if not better.

Overall great
The property was great for the price and in the perfect location. However the guest bedroom door knob/lock was broken and taped with quite a bit of packaging tape. My children got stuck in the room TWICE when they closed the door. It took 5 minutes the first time and 20 minutes the second time to get the door open! They were in a panic. I recommend this be fixed ASAP.

For the price I thought it was fair. None of the tvs are smart tvs, the locks on the doors are old and need replaced and Some of the dinning room chairs had rips in them .On our first night the kids discovered there was tape on the lock in their room, being kids they took it off so they could lock their little sister out and they ended up getting locked inside and we couldn’t open the door. Thankfully it had a window so they were able to climb out. Maintenance was able to come that night and get it open but couldn’t fix it completely because he said it was so old. He put more tape on the door and said the office would call the next day to schedule a time to come fix it completely well they never called. We at least able to use the door but annoying they never called to come fix. The location of the property was very nice, right on the beach and the pool was nice too. For the price we paid we would probably stay again if we find ourselves in the area again

I'll give it 2.5 stars
I would like to start out by saying I waited a week to leave a review so that I could really think over what I was going to say. I know how helpful reviews are to me when searching for VRBO, so I wanted to be thorough. I will start by saying there was NO communication with the property manager... NONE. I had messaged the day of our trip to see if we could check in 1 hour early and received no response. I went to the office when we arrived to see about speaking with someone and the gentleman (who informed me he was the property owner's father, and only worked customer service) was EXTREMELY frustrated and short. He wasn't even willing to talk with me at first, then when I apologized for notably bothering him, he seemed to realize that he was dealing with a client, and changed his tune... a little. The gentleman stated the condo was not clean and we would be contacted via the VRBO messenger when we could check in. (I now find this odd as the cleaning lady showed up at 9:25 AM, 1/2 hour before check out the day we were leaving.) We waited across the street at a bar/restaurant until I received a message at exactly 3 pm (check-in time) that our condo was ready. My previous message regarding an early check-in was never even addressed or acknowledged. When we arrived at the condo, I was less than impressed, to say the least! The old car passes were on the counter, garbage left behind the beds, ONE very small bar of soap in the bathrooms to wash our hands (for 5 days), and ONE garbage bag in the kitchen. I had to pull lightbulbs from the chandelier in the dining area as there weren't any in the closet lamp or the guest bathroom. When I say there wasn't a lightbulb, that doesn't mean it was burnt out, there literally wasn't one in the socket. There were no condo instructions or "rules" anywhere to be found, not even in the email that was sent to me. The furniture was so old and worn that we had to put pillows under the cushions so we could comfortably sit without sinking, and the recliner had holes in the fabric. The headboard in the bedroom was so rickety that every time we moved, it sounded like it was going to fall off. Once we moved it away from the wall, we found all of the garbage behind the bed. Considering we were paying more than $300 per day, I expected at least simple household items. Despite the shatty conditions inside the condo, I will say the location was nice, and it was within walking distance to local attractions.

Very good location
The condo was quite nice and safe with a lovely pool area and beach access. The unit was clean but lacking in some important items. We did not have any dish cloths or dish towels. I guess I'm spoiled by all the other places we've stayed but there were no coffee filters or paper towels, usually they leave you a small amount. We arrived on a holiday and stores were closed. Someone already mentioned poor condition of furniture and I agree: couches well used, dining chair and recliner have torn fabric on seats. Due to someone's error in the office we did not get our check-in instructions until minutes before our arrival, STRESSFUL! With some minor changes this could be a 5 star VRBO. One more thing, the blinds in the bedroom that cover the sliding door did not work so no view of the ocean :/
