Imagine waking up in a yurt by a stream, hearing the water trickling past you and the birds singing.
You are not too far from Lake Balaton, the place in Hungary where you never feel bored. This Yurt is an original Mongolian lodge, so if you ever wanted to try this feeling-here is the time.
The Yurt is like a felt tent equipped with modern comforts: double bed, kitchen, dining table with chairs, pull-out sofa and private area with a modern shower, toilet and washbasin.
The stream flows into a small valley on the edge of the forest, from where the yurt rises on a pedestal on wooden posts. A tub bath has been placed on the edge of this, which the owner prepares upon request. A little further in, a fire pit provides the opportunity for outdoor cooking. Here you can feel truly close to nature.
Taliándörögd is a very small village North of the Káli basin.
There are many hiking and cycling opportunities in the area. Discover the Káli basin, enjoy the Hungarian culinary, water sport at Lake Balaton, special wine in Badacsony area, visit the Folly Arboretum, enjoy the Sunday Market in Káptalantóti. Tihany is only 40 minutes’ drive, Balatonfüred is closer, Veszprem and the Balaton region were the European Capital of Culture in 2023.
Why is this place called the Valley of Arts?
Every summer, in July, for the 36th time in 2025, this all-arts festival is held in this region for 10 days, including theatrical performances, classical, folk and world music concerts, literary evenings and afternoons, exhibitions and craft demonstrations.
