The cabin is an old place, and is out of the way and exactly what we wanted. As soon as we walked in my wife and I both said it reminded us of our grandparents homes. Quiet, away from hustle and bustle, but can be in Townsend in 20 minutes. Would recommend

We booked the cabin then wanted to extend our stay. Making the change to extend our stay was quick and easy. Cabin was near and clean as usual. This is the 3 rd time we have stayed and we love it! We Would highly recommend!

Charming
We were a little worried when we arrived, it was very dark. However the interior of the cabin is very charming and has everything one would need for their stay. Nice work touches like coffee pods and some snacks too. Only downside for our group was that there was no internet which meant NO PHONE service- definitely a problem when traveling with two 80 year olds and a Kindergarten. Additionally the front porch transition to the ground could use some love- it was a difficult process to get the 80 year olds into the cabin. Other than those tow things, the cabin as charming and the surrounding land beautiful.

The location of the cabin is in a beautiful area. Rockers on the front porch to enjoy the view and the beautiful night sky. Cabin was well equipped and very spacious. Large table for family dinner, comfortably seats 7. Would highly recommend. We will definitely book again!

Perfect
The only reason I gave this cabin a 5 star is because there wasn’t a 10 option. I can not say enuf good about this place. Getting to the cabin gets a little tight going up the mountain but we have no retreats choosing this place. It’s absolutely perfect in every way. Plenty of room for the four of us nice big yard with a fire pit great location with the Mountain View’s. Would definitely stay here again in the future. Made our stay even more perfect

Rustic with all the modern necessities. Very clean. No Wifi signal in the area so make sure you know the door code before arriving, once inside the cabin you can login for Guest Wifi service.

Property owner canceled
Never rented property owner canceled last minute just before our arrival due to frozen water lines/pump. We drove 8 plus hours and had no where to stay. Then I paid out the ass to stay one night and completed the remaining stay in three separate hotel rooms. Which defeated the purpose to rent for a family retreat, when we were all split up.

Quiet Getaway
Having a large family with five young children, it can be hard to find a place to stay that is both spacious and affordable. This cabin, however, was both! We made memories catching crawfish and fireflies, and I wasn't worried that our kids' loud noises would disturb anyone. I even commented to my husband that I would love to live in a cabin like this one day. Thank you for providing a place that gave our family life-long memories!

Quiet getaway
Went to the mountains and met my aunts halfway between our homes. The property was well stocked and with plenty of room! Some traffic due to proximity to the Tail of the Dragon and the holiday weekend, but not a big deal at all. Beds were comfortable, fire out was great and there was wood outside as well. Overall, a great stay for what we needed!

Quaint cabin in the mountains
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for us, as we were motorcycling, and the Tail of the dragon is 5 minutes away. The road the cabin is on has a few sections that would rival the Tail. There was a nice yard, with plenty of parking for our trucks and trailers. I would stay here again. The cabin was clean, and had all the amenities we needed.

Motorcycle Getaway
Property authentic to posting. Updated rustic cabin with nice, calm, country feel. Close enough to town to get essentials (food, extra paper goods, firewood, etc) yet far enough to enjoy the mountain life! Property boasts easy in/out for a Motorcycle trailer with plenty of turning room; grassy flat grounds overall. Close to Foothills Parkway & Tail of the Dragon with many beautiful scenic routes. We enjoyed our stay and will be back with opportunities to make countless memories!

Cozy retreat
We decided to stay at Happy Bear for a few days during a two week trip. It was the perfect location to recharge. The cabin was so cozy and comfortable. The kids loved the bunk room, they just wish there were curtains. Shirt drive to Abrams Creek Campground where we went for a short hike and an easy ride to Townesend for food, groceries and horseback riding. Then made our way to Cades Cove. We saw deer and a coyote while at the house. Very unique and enjoyable, thank you.

Would not return
I've rented cabins in the Smokies for years. The overall condition and quality of this cabin is well below what I expected. It was cleaned prior to our arrival but has a major mouse infestation. Mouse poop on the counters in the AM. The lack of window coverings in the bedrooms and bathrooms gives the home a fish bowl feel. The overall condition of the home is below average. The rental price does not accurately reflect condition. I won't rent it twice.
