My recent stay at Hotel Bajo el Ciruelo was nothing short of a disappointment, marred by a series of frustrating shortcomings that left me utterly dissatisfied and led to us booking another room elsewhere last minute.
Firstly, the communication regarding early check-in was abysmal. Despite my explicit inquiry about the possibility of checking in early, the staff failed when we arrived said it wouldn’t be feasible and upon arrival, I was met with a curt dismissal and had to wait for hours, making it impossible to get ready for the wedding we were attending.
Secondly, the lack of air conditioning in the room was unbearable. In the sweltering heat of the summer, a basic amenity like air conditioning should be a given, yet my room felt like a sauna. The windows had no screens, we were unable to open them without inviting a plague of mosquitos and other bugs that seemed to thrive in the stagnant air.
Furthermore, the photos online were clearly a case of deceptive advertising. The ”honeymoon suite” looked worn-out and neglected, a stark contrast to the polished images that originally lured me to book a stay. The outdated furnishings and lack of maintenance were evident from the moment I stepped inside, including only one 5”x7” mirror in the whole place!
Overall, my experience at Hotel Bajo el Ciruelo was a regrettable one and a waste of money since we did not stay for more than 1hr
