My wife and kids recently stayed at this hotel. Keep in mind that she did have a reservation. She arrived 30 minutes early, room was not ready for the 3pm check in, that is understandable. They left and returned at 4:30, room was still not ready. She was then told it would be another hour. She left again and returned around 6:30 at which point the room was ready. When they entered the room it was clearly not cleaned. Beds were a unmade, a blanket was on the dresser, pillows on the floor, and the floor was clearly not vacuumed. The bathroom had no towels or shower curtain. She then went back to the front desk and informed the staff that the room was not cleaned. They told her there was another room being cleaned but would not be ready for another 20 minutes. She doesn't know when that room actually was finished because the staff never told her the room was done. At 8pm she once again went to the front desk and asked about the room. At this time, they said the room was indeed finished. By this point it was 5 hours past their 3pm check in time. My wife is not one to throw a fit so she kept her calm and never made a big deal about the issue, I would have made a very big deal about this if I were there. Also the staff never brought up the idea of any comps to make up for the 5 hour delay. At bare minimum I believe they should have credited her on the cost of the room for that night. Howard Johnson you dropped the ball big time and we will never return to your hotel again!!!
