This place is perfect for the outdoor spirit in you with places such as Truckee River Regional Park nearby, where you can spend a fun-filled day out with your family picnicking on the grass, hiking along its incredible trails, or playing some disc golf. Donner Memorial State Museum Is less than five miles out from your vacation rental where you can learn all about the emigrant experience and of the people that once lived here in this humble settlement so long ago.

Head on back after you've had enough adventure for one day and gaze up at the enormity of your new home away from home tucked behind tall and gorgeous trees. Inside, you'll be in awe at the spaciousness of your living area, with its tall windows reaching up to its vaulted ceiling. Kick up your feet and relax on the comfortable furnishings provided or take a quick power nap on the couch. The cabin-like interior decor along with its welcoming signs are sure to make you feel right at home. Cook up a delicious meal for everyone as you make use of the full kitchen's stainless steel appliances. Gather around the dining room table and feast on a homemade meal under the light of a spectacular chandelier.

Put on your favorite bathing suit and ready yourself for an evening of relaxing and simmering in your own private hot tub with a couple of drinks and some fantastic company. To warm up against the brisk cold air, head back inside and dry off by the fireplace provided. Wrap yourself in a cozy blanket and sip on some hot cocoa. You'll have your pick of the bedrooms, all awaiting you with their snug bedsheets. Slip under the covers and let the gentle breeze of the forest air outside carry you away into a good night's rest.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Nice home
The home is great, nicely furnished and good location. We did have a few issues. The home was really cold when we arrived and it took more than a day to warm up. I assume the furnace filters needs to be serviced. We closed vents in areas we were not using to try and warm it up. There were only a couple garbage bags, not a roll. The Bear trash container was full when we arrived so we put our rubbish in the garage, there was no firewood in the garage as promised. Overall it is a really nice home,

Nice house but lacking basic supplies
This was a very nice stay for our family of 12. The reason we gave it 3 stars was it seriously lacked basic items. There is one towel per bathroom, no wash clothes or hand towels, left us one small 4 oz bottle of dish washing soap, 2 dish towels in the kitchen. When we ran out of tp the manager said “go get your own, we supply the first roll.” Now keep in mind we are paying over 800. a night. Like I said we really did enjoy the house and we would consider going again sometime. I feel like the owner needs to hear this report. These items would not be expensive to supply your guests and for the price of the stay we think the house should be better supplied. Thank you

Excellent cabin - clean, well stocked, updated
This cabin was a perfect fit for our annual family friend ski trip. It is probably the nicest cabin we have rented as a group. Situated in Truckee it is ideally located close to all of our favorite ski resorts. It’s a really nice cozy cabin and the living spaces and kitchen were very spacious. The kitchen is super well stocked - we were able to cook dinners easily. There is a great deck overlooking a large backyard with lot of trees. Super nice quite large hottub. This is a really ideal cabin for a group of a few families. The master bedroom is really huge and nice. We didn’t really have anything negative to say, overall great experience and we felt like it was a good value for what you get.

We rented the house for a ski weekend with friends and it was perfect. Great location close to downtown Truckee. Spacious room. Great areas to hang out together. Clean. Well stocked. Nothing to complain about. Will be keeping this one on the short list for future trips.

Great house for a group!
This is a terrific home, especially for a group! My group stayed for three nights. We found the home to be spacious and clean. The owners were easy to reach for all issues. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to others.

Great stay in a great location!
This was the perfect property and location for our annual family trip! The kitchen was perfect for prepping big meals, and the children could safely play in the fenced in yard. The location was super convenient to downtown Truckee, Donner Lake, and many hiking trails. The hosts were very accommodating and super responsive during the booking process.

Beautiful Truckee rental
We had a wonderful vacation at the Ponderosa Palisades property! The house is really set up well for large groups - we had 5 adults, two teenagers and two toddlers; there are enough bedrooms/sleeping areas in this house for everyone to have their own space. Everything was very clean and in great working condition, and the check-in process was easy and straightforward. The kitchen is really well-equipped for cooking, which was a huge plus for us. Getting into the Tahoe proper area was also very quick; it's only about a 20 minute drive away so you feel like you can access the north Tahoe/Incline Village areas while being away from the bustle of those areas. The Palisades neighborhood is quiet and was great for a family stay. I'd highly recommend this property for a large group looking for a quiet place to stay near Tahoe!

Great Spot for Family Get Together
This was a great place for our family get together as we attended a wedding. There was plenty of space to spread out but the common areas were wonderful for large groups to enjoy time together. We enjoyed the great outdoor area. The fire pit and hot tub were great gathering spots. The unusually warm weather meant we would have lliked an air conditioner the last night and we had to put sheets on one of the beds but those were minor issues. It was a very nice stay.

Great Central Place for Visiting Truckee
We had a small family gathering for my cousin's surprise birthday. We enjoyed the breweries in town and felt that our place was a great location, close proximity to downtown and other activities. The place was clean and well kept and the kitchen was supplied with everything we needed for cooking our meals at the house. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Amazing house and backyard!
Carrie and Tod's house was perfect for 11 30+ year olds. The house was very clean upon arrival and check in process was very easy. Carrie was extremely responsive to my questions. The hot tub and fire pit in the backyard were amazing! The beds were super comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen was fully stocked with spices, pots, pans, baking pans, etc. The neighborhood is quiet with a few trails just up the road from the house. I would definitely stay again!!

Truckee Good Time!
I rented the property for my birthday celebration with friends and family! We had an awesome time! Tod and Carrie were super host very responsive and so accommodating! The house was nice and had more than enough room for my family of 12! So many nearby places to visit as well. We had a great time and we would definitely stay again!!

Lovely home in the trees
Overall we had a wonderful time. The house is has plenty of space for a large group. It has lots of windows so you feel like you are in the middle of a forest. The fire pit was a lot of fun to sit around and relax. Would stay again. Great communication with the owners.

Lovely house near Truckee and Donner Lake
This house is just so lovely and comfortable with everything you could want for a stylish, well-appointed and relaxing vacation, with lots of beautiful tall trees and lovely indoor and outdoor spaces . We cooked dinner for the three nights we were here and appreciated the new and fully stocked kitchen at our disposal, as well as a gas grill . It's a very short drive to Truckee ( try Dark Horse Coffee!) and Safeway; about 12 minutes to Donner Lake (Donner Memorial Park!) , and about 1/2 hour easy drive to Tahoe Vista/ Lake Tahoe (kayak rentals at Commons Beach, burgers and beer on the patio at Fat Cat!) . One of our party had to work remotely and had plenty of room to camp out in the office downstairs and work while the rest of us were upstairs undisturbed in the kitchen, living room and upper deck. Carrie was responsive and more than accommodating when another party after us canceled unexpectedly, and she offered to ask the cleaners if they could accommodate us earlier for check in, and a later check out -- such a treat! We had a great time at the house and would love to visit again! HIghly recommmend!

This home is in a great location. The house was very clean and fit the 8 of us perfectly. Nice comfy beds big spacious kitchen with everything you’ll need. The owners was very helpful and answered all our questions. We will definitely be renting again. Five stars in my book for sure.
