Weather was cloudy and chilly in Tucson while we visited, but our casita was clean, warm and comfortable. We appreciated the full kitchen with all the cooking utensils and dishes, as we cooked breakfast every day.
The central location was fine for us. We drove out of the city every day to hike in the scenic mountains which surround Tucson. So much to see, and so little time! The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. “Pastiche” is the name of a great restaurant nearby. The Sonoran Desert Museum was surprisingly interesting — not just a lot of cacti — we spent nearly a full day there. Hiking in Madera Canyon was our favorite, and not crowded. We also enjoyed driving up to Mt Lemmon even though the road was busy. The views are stunning, and we found snow at the top.
