Small family run hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful with eating/activity suggestions. Great location - close to restaurants and vaporetto stop. Close enough to San Marco, but without the crowds. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Bed was comfortable, shower worked well, as did the air conditioner. Hotel has a lift, which is a bonus in Venice. Would recommend.

A lovely family run hotel, right in the heart of Venice but still maintaining a small and intimate feel. The breakfast is great, beds are comfy and the AC is a lifesaver, particularly in the summer. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone for either short or long term stays.

It’s a small old boutique type of hotel owned by a family. The staff are the owners and they are delightful.. their recommendations were excellent. We had such a lovely time. The rooms are simple but very clean. The shower works very well with great water pressure and the air conditioner was excellent.

Gem of a hotel near San Marco
Hotel Fontana is a gem run by 2 cousins who understand customer service. You can not ask for a better location and the breakfast, which you have to buy, is well worth the €11 charged. And they have an elevator that works! I expect a hotel in Venice to be a bit dated, it's part of the charm, but my parents stayed in a room that smelt bad. Not sure what it was but we had to keep the windows open at all times. If they get that fixed, 10/10.

Looks a bit old, but is well kept and very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. A bit far from the train and bus stations, but very close to attractions and to water bus service. Would stay there again.

Nice area with plenty of shops and restaurants. It is a small hotel run by two cousins who were very pleasant and accommodating. the continental Breakfast was optional fee and was very good for the price

The staff was courteous and friendly. They agreed to move us out of our original room due to an odor in the bathroom overnight. They claimed nothing was wrong but when we checked it out again the odor was there. No coffeemaker in room. No coffee until 7:30 and only if you have free breakfast as part of your stay. Now that I have a better idea about Venice I would look at other options.

Great place to stay
The hotel was was clean and in a very convenient location. The Fontana is a 5 minute walk from the San Marco vaporetto (water taxi) stop, so transportation to anywhere in Venice is quite easy. The staff is very friendly and quite helpful. Would definitely recommend it.
