The Area:
Locally known as the ‘quiet’ side of the Tetons, Teton Valley is beautiful no matter what season you visit. Summertime brings endless options for superb fly fishing, hiking and backpacking. In the winter, you will enjoy exceptional skiing in all forms whether downhill, backcountry, skate, classic or x-country touring.
Victor is located at the south end of Teton Valley. It was established in the late 1800s and named after George Victor Sherwood, a postman who devotedly walked the route between Jackson Hole and the south end of Teton Valley to bring residents their mail. Still small today, Victor is a thriving community of outdoor enthusiasts, artists and ranchers. Walk or bike ride to downtown Victor and enjoy Music on Main (summer), many restaurants, breweries and don't forget to stop by the Emporium for a HuckleBerry Shake! A real treat any time of year.
Eight miles north is Driggs, which is a bit larger than Victor and has a few more amenities such as a full service grocery store, natural food store, and a hardware store. Additionally, you will find more great restaurants, art galleries and shops.
Jackson, Wyoming is a 25 mile drive over Teton Pass. Here you can enjoy additional shopping, art galleries and recreational opportunities. Some of our favorite visits are Teton National Park, the Elk Refuge, Astoria Hot Springs and the water recreation on the Snake River.
North is West Yellowstone and the entry into Yellowstone National Park. There is lots to see and do along the way. Big Springs and Mesa Falls just to name a few. Fishing is good on the many rivers and tributaries in the area. The Henry’s Fork is certainly within striking distance. Guide services are available locally.
