Welcome to '1 of a Kind'!

'1 of a Kind' is a rustic 2BR/2.5BA cabin in quaint Valle Crucis. This cabin is just 5 minutes from the historic Mast General store and the riverside community park, 12 minutes from Boone shopping and dining, 15 minutes from ASU, 17 minutes from Tweetsie Railroad, 20 minutes from Main Street Blowing Rock, Appalachian Ski Mountain, and Hawksnest Snow Tubing, 25 minutes to Sugar Mountain and 35-40 minutes to Ski Beech and Grandfather Mountain.

The main level of this cozy cabin features a large living area centered around a stone wood-burning fireplace, leather couches, and a 40-inch satellite HDTV with a DVD player. The kitchen is a fully-equipped with stainless steel appliances, marble countertops, and handmade wormy chestnut cabinets created by a local craftsman. There is also dining for two at the bar and four at the dining table. The outside deck is appointed with comfortable wicker chairs, a porch swing, a gas grill, and a large hot tub - all with wonderful views of the farm and valley below along with the surrounding mountains.

The upper level features a King Master Suite, with a king bed, a skylight in the ceiling, a settee in front of an electric fireplace, and a spacious private bathroom with a two-person jacuzzi and a separate shower.

The lower level provides a large entertainment room with a pool table and Tiffany-style light above, a comfy leather sofa that pulls out to a Queen sleeping space, and a 40-inch HDTV. The second bedroom is also on this level and has a Queen bed and a full bathroom with a combination tub and shower.

This cabin is not pet-friendly, and access is one step up from the parking area leading to the front door. Firewood is provided at 1 of a Kind, and guests can leave a donation in the jar provided at the cabin.

Beautiful mountain getaway

The cabin was beautiful, just like the pictures & the views were lovely! Enjoyed the pool table & shopping in the area. The only issue we had was that the hot tub decided when it wanted to work or not, but when it was on it was great!

Rustic and Cozy

My family enjoyed our extended weekend at One of a Kind. The cabin is intentionally rustic and the decor was perfect for the theme. The cabin is very charming. The small footprint packed in a lot of amenities with the large fireplace and porch swing on main, the master suite fireplace, the master suite garden tub, and the pool table downstairs. There is room for a few improvements. When we visited there was a damaged pedestal sink on main and the lift for the hot tub lids were broken. When reported, the property managers were quick to respond with an apology for the damage and compensation for the inconvenience. If you love to cook, bring your own pots and pans. The ones provided are limited and their surfaces compromised. If you are at all mobility challenged, rule this one out. There are two sets of steep stairs to get either up or down to either bed room from the main level. We had a lovely experience and would return with pots and pans in tow.

Dream House

This property was AWESOME! My son and I stayed and we loved it. There is enough room to have your own space but still feel together. Loved sitting on the swing in the morning and in the evenings as the sun set. So close to everything while still off the beaten path. Beds were so comfy and the showers and tub were great. Having the hot tub was so relaxing after a long day out.
