Our beautiful vacation home is located north of the town of Wedowee on the big Tallapoosa River of Lake Wedowee. It is located at the end of a 2 mile gravel road. We have four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. It is a little confusing to find the place and we will get you there with great directions if you decide to stay. The house is fully stocked and includes 2 kitchens, 2 family rooms, 3 covered porches, laundry closet with washer and dryer, lake gazebo but no boat, you can bring your own or use the kayaks we have down at the dock. This is very private with only one neighbor. Enjoy the scenery, paddle up river about 10 minutes and view the eagles nests in trees standing in the water. There are 2 additional blow up mattresses if you have more than 10. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to town to the grocery store. Well behaved pets are welcome. The dogs usually love to hang outside anyway. There is so much for them to do.
The house is three levels. Main floor includes master bedroom and bath with access to porch, family room, half bath, laundry closet, eat-in kitchen, back porch with dining, daybed for naps, wicker seating area and front porch. Upper level includes 2 bedrooms for seven and a large bath with double sinks. Lower level includes bedroom with queen and daybed, large bathroom with shower only, family room, additional kitchen and access to large covered porch.
NOTE: If you want 100% reliable and fast internet this is not for you. The provider's wiring system is copper and operates at a target of 1.7 Mbps compared to 100 Mbps or higher for high speed service at your non rural home. The internet works fine for standard site logins and surfing. Forget gaming or more than 2 concurrent users. Streaming on the newer Roku devices provided with updated compression technology will work but there will be a buffering delay on startup. The reliability factor for all of Lake Wedowee is probably about 85% (storms, squirrels, fallen trees, old lines and equipment). You just never know when the 15% will hit you. Verizon was a reliable cell tower phone service in the past. With the "upgrade" to 5G from 3G reliability has decreased in the Lake Wedowee area because 5G has a lower range signal than 3G. I will be researching starlink for a solution. If you have a starlink portable device bring it for backup. We have DVD players, 300 movies, 100 books, games and puzzles for alternate entertainment. The Great Outdoors is at your doorstep.
