The home is professionally cleaned and laundered between guests. The hot tub is drained, cleaned, and refilled between each reservation. Water softener.
We are a local family who own, manage, and maintain Shelterwood Lodge, Guest House, or combined as the 2 Home Retreat. Having a background in outdoor careers in Montana, we relied on our years of experience working and recreating in the woods when we designed and built Shelterwood. Construction was completed in 2021. We are happy to answer questions about the area and the house. In the home we provide guides, maps, backpacks, cooler, and baby gear for your use during your stay.Also includes laundry detergent, dish detergent, hand soap, toiletries, hair dryers, campfire and stove firewood.
Summer highlights: touring Yellowstone Park, fly fishing on Blue Ribbon rivers and streams, visiting the lake, hiking and mountain biking access from the property, horseback riding, see the rodeo, ride the Yellowstone Aerial Adventures Zipline, catch a movie on the Yellowstone Giant Screen, visit the Grizzly Wolf Discovery Center, dining and shopping in West Yellowstone.
Winter highlights: groomed snowmobile trail access from the property, cross country skiing and snow shoeing access from the property or in town at the Rendezvous trail system, ice fishing, winter tours into Yellowstone by snow coach or snowmobile, downhill skiing and snowboarding at Big Sky ski resort less than an hour drive. Road and driveway plowing included. 4WD vehicle recommended.

Beautiful cabin for Yellowstone
This cabin was beautiful. The place is 10 minutes from the west entrance to Yellowstone and was perfect for daily trips into the park.

Outstanding home and location
We stayed in the guest house to utilize as our base for our Yellowstone trip. The location was perfect with an easy trip to get to the West entrance. The VRBO was spotless and had every necessary amenity for a perfect spot to come relax after a day of sightseeing. The hot tub was awesome and everything was so well maintained and high quality. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of towels, kitchen necessities and other things we wouldn’t even think of. Our last day we were happy to spend staying in West Yellowstone and enjoying the great VRBO. Would definitely stay again!

Rustic Elegance anf Beautiful Mountain Views
Even better than advertised, this beautiful home offered modern amenities and comfort with the beauty and feel of a rustic cabin in the woods. The hosts provide everything you need for a fabulous Montana vacation and staging point for your Yellowstone adventure. We looked forward to getting back to this beautiful home every night and even carved out one day to just stay home and enjoy being there. The views, location, decor, amenities … perfect.

Perfect!
Great location! Just outside of West Yellowstone. Nestled up in the Gallatin Forrest. Minutes to the park. Wife and I stayed here for a week while we visited Yellowstone. Amenities were top notch. House is super clean and super nice. Owners are very responsive and very nice. Not one bad thing to say about the whole experience. Will be staying here again..

Amazing Yellowstone Trip
This was by far the BEST VRBO I have stayed at. The property is set in a serene area tucked away in west Yellowstone and is a 15 min drive to Yellowstone National park. The house was amazing and had all the amenities and more. We had 6 adults and 2 young kids and it was extremely comfortable and welcoming. The owners welcomed us with fresh cookies decorated with a Yellowstone theme and had a great kitchen filled with a great spice rack/cooking utensils/water bottles/anything else you might need. The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was clean and very good. The house is new, inside and outside was pristine/luxurious. The owner stopped by and was extremely nice. We honestly didn’t want to leave. When we visit Yellowstone we will definitely be planning our trip around this house.
