Value for extended stay
We visited Curacao on our honeymoon and booked Piscadera Seaview Apartments. They contacted us before our trip about flight details and even bought some groceries of our choice when asked for a minimal fee. Our first impression was positive.
We arrived to the apartments late in the evening. Security person gave us welcome info and took us to our room. He didn't speak English. After settling in to our room we saw few bugs and some dust on the floor. Bed sheets also looked like that they'd been slept in for many times, even if they were clean. We'd been traveling 20 hours at that point and were supposed to be starting our honeymoon. After a few hours we decided to change to another hotel. We should have asked for another room but we didn't want to risk any more time on honeymoon.
We informed staff that this place was not for us and are moving to another hotel. They didn't ask any reason for change. They even said they wouldn't be charging us for full stay. Of course this was just talking and they ended up charging us for full 7 nights (they were entitled). Check-out process left us feeling that they didn't mind us leaving the apartment once they got their money.
We really wanted to like it but had different expectations which combined to being on a honeymoon, made us to change hotels.
Notes: Rent a car: beaches and supermarkets are not close-by. If you're a resort person liking private beaches, breakfast or resort bars, this is not for you.
