We had a lovely stay, the staff were friendly and it was so quiet. There is parking, a coffee machine available 24/7 and fresh croissants in the morning. The only issue I had was that the mattress was so hard it was like sleeping on concrete so I didn’t get very much sleep but the firmness of mattresses is a personal preference.

No communication regarding flooding

We arrived in York 2 days after flooding occurred, but the hotel did not attempt to get in touch with us prior to arriving to inform us that we were unable to drive to and park at the hotel. We were given an alternative parking address, with no clear instructions and had to walk with small children, after dark, in the freezing cold, with our bags across the river which took around 25 minutes. We would have made alternative accommodation arrangements had we known of the flooding and the inconvenience we experienced. We were unable to use the gym as it was being used as a laundry store, we could not control the thermostat in the bedroom, the shower screen was broken and the toilet roll holder was broken and hanging off the wall. We expected better service from this chain of hotels, and the lack of communication for guests yet to arrive was unacceptable and poor service in Roomzzz part. We were offered a partial refund on the rate, but we would have preferred to have been informed of the flooding before arriving and having the Ho or to cancel and stay somewhere more accessible for us.

On arrival we were given our key fob for our room but as we entered the room it was already taken.2nd fob given and to our shock we walked in on another couple. After refusing to go to another room before they check it first we finally got a vacant room. However I paid for a room with a view and a balcony instead we got a view of the carpark.

Wonderful Break

Great Hotel

Really enjoyed our stay. Good riverside location only 10 to 15 mins walk into York and 5 to 10 mins taxi ride to York rail station. Very comfortable room with all you need. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Underground parking,(approx £15/day on the RingGo app) big apartment room with comfortable bed, warm shower. Made our own breakfast. Room had view of canal . It was about a 10min walk to the Town centre and tourist areas. A great stay

The beddings were dirty and appeared to be unclean. We had to ask for a replacement and did not get correct size either. Staff should be more courteous and pay attention to the different types of customers regardless of initial impression based on appearance or names.

10 minute walk from the ‘action’ right on the river. This is an apartment with a small kitchen area. Spacious clean room with a massive bed. All good .. No dining facilities in the hotel other than a few snacks but you know that before you book. No complaints from me and I’d stay again ina heartbeat.
