Pity about the restaurant the worse breakfast we’ve ever had and seemed the chef didn’t care. Otherwise a great place maybe get on top of the bird issue particularly around the pool. If the restaurant was a place that was better priced, better food and a chef that can fry an egg I highly recommend for a stay here, well I would still recommend just go offsite to eat. Would of been nice to have the pool bar open as well. We will be back just won’t eat there.

Lovely, comfortable resort
We had a great 3 days stay here in a ground floor with patio, close to the pool. We found it to be quite quiet even though it was over new years. The room was spacious, aircond, bed comfortable, with quite a large ensuite/Laundry. Particularly liked the sachets supplied for washing up and laundry. The only downer we found was the drain in the shower was quite gunked up therefore water could not get away fast enough. Good base to checkout 1770 and Agnes Waters. Reception Staff were very pleasant, would stay here again

So many rules about extra fees charged if you step out of line. Too scared to enjoy myself. Sad I couldn’t show my family where I was staying. Had a restaurant but didn’t try it because better to dine where I can be with family.

3 night stay. Better to AirBnb then stay here.
Check in time was 2pm. We reached at 2:30 and were told the room is not ready yet. Waited until 3:30pm and still nothing from reception so we ended up getting the room keys and told them we will wait in the room for the cleaning staff to finish. When we reached the room it was already ready don't know since how long. The reception obviously didn't bother to check other then looking at the screen. Room was good sized and clean except they didn't clean the fridge and there was some old seafood still present in the freezer from previous guests. After putting our luggage we came down to go to pool around 3:45 and reception was closed. Not a single staff visible for any help. No pool towels nothing. I understand it was boxing day but it's a resort and as guests paying $450 a night we expect some basic services. No internet and T.v didn't work either. Next day upon asking reception I was told the hotel is quite booked so internet wasn't available. Seriously??? Swimming pool and the area was quite nice but very poorly maintained. All the toiletries had to be asked for at the reception daily. Even the towels had to be asked for every day. Bathroom drainage wasn't the best so had to use towels to dry excess water every day. No one to take the rubbish either and had to empty ourselves. No sound proofing in the rooms. I guess it would be way better to AirBnb instead of staying here.

Great stay. Only complaint would be having to pay an extra $50 to use the spa on the balcony. That should just be included in the total cost. Other than that, it was a family friendly place to stay.

While the pool was the attraction for us, everything else promised was underwhelming. The property looks tired and in need of an update. There is little atmosphere, no pool bar as advertised. The pictures on the website and Wotif are certainly not the reality. While the rooms are clean and comfortable, the room was never serviced during our 5 night stay. We had to continually ask for supplies like fresh towels, tea bags, toilet paper etc. And the shower drain looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months - hair and soap scum covering the drain - eew! The resort’s only drawcard is the pool that is right at your doorstep. The Plantation Restaurant was a dead zone. The staff were even unenthused and looked like they wished they were somewhere else. I think this place stopped being a ‘resort’ a long time ago. It needs some investment to bring it back to its former glory.

Great Resort. Avoid the Restaurant
Resort was very good. Do not be tempted to dine at the restaurant. Whoops maybe that should be cafe. The food was actually good. The service was appalling. The cocktails were made from a book without a blender (terrible). Wait staff didn’t know one meal from another. There was a bar in the restaurant that was not in use for some reason to do with not paying. When you query the service or lack of the service deteriorates further.

I enjoyed my stay there at 1770 so much, it was my first time ever at a resort and will be doing so again in future. The room was huge, has everything in it to make your stay so much more comfortable and the spa on balcony is too die for 😊😘

Apartment wasnt clean to an acceptable standard, made us feel gross. Bed was hard as rock. Person/cleaner in upper apartment threw a bucket of water? Over the balcony, almost hitting us while we were "trying" to relax. Noise from other guests was disturbing, squealing kid and could hear the people in upper level dragging their chairs across the floor, some sort of arguemet broke out around 1am on the first night we stayed. Mould in aircon, shower was feral. Thankful for my crocs as we were scared of catching something or growing an extra body part from the bacteria. Mouldy, chlorine, urine smell in room and hall way. Convenient location, friendly staff, has alot of potential. Shame its not well maintained and cleanliness isnt a priority.

The words "a luxury stay awaits you at 1770 lagoons resort" is laughable. The place is dirty, poorly maintained, and you now have to pay $50 extra to use your spa. Location is fine, however youde be best served staying anywhere else if you want anything near "luxury".

Agnes Waters Friendly little town.
We had a great few days, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and supplied everything however it needs some renovations. It is a lovely spot however some needed renovations required and it would be rated a 5. Absolutely 5 for staff they were so friendly and friendly. The room needed new air-conditioner and just a little update. The pool access from our room was excellent made out stay enjoyable, just a few updated renovations it would be perfect. Everywhere we went to eat at Agnes Waters from the local coffee shop to the Tavern were so friendly. Little breakfast Gem Codie’s new the beach. We will be back to stay.
