We fully enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast every morning was phenomenal, the staff all very friendly and accommodating. Location was so convenient, you can come right out onto the street and there’s a convenience store steps from the entrance! The gym is quite minimal, so we went to the Marina du Albufeira and got a week’s pass at the Luxury Fitness there. The pillows are a bit on the small/soft side, but I’m sure they would have given us extras had we asked (we were always just so tired when we got back to the room!) We also found the room quite soundproof, despite being so close to the busy street and pool.

Chilled hotel.
An amazing hotel and location .. The hotel is literally in the middle of the busy strip.. but you can choose to or not have busy or chilled days and evenings. Hotel room was clean and up to date too, staff very friendly. The pool area is amazing and the beds are so comfortable and it’s great that there is no bed reserving too. So it was easy to get a bed any time of the day really. Portugal is amazing and the Portuguese are so friendly too. Well recommend :-)

Seaview, was actually air con unit. Location is in the heart of Portugal malaga or iyanapa. Deafening in the room in evenings, bar after bar of music bashing your ears - literally. Unless you want to expire in the heat by keeping windows closed. Zero peace or quieter areas anywhere near this place

I loved the location! It was slightly annoying to use two different elevators but I understand the need for it since I chose a room away from the noisy strip. I would definitely stay again.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week and it’s fair to say we both fell in love with the place and albufeira itself. The staff at the hotel were so friendly, polite and talkative, very informative when telling us about the hotel. The facilities were amazing, although we were slightly disappointed with the space in the toilet, not enough space to move and not much privacy either (might be because of the size room we had) but apart from that, we can’t fault the hotel at all. The pool area was our favourite part, very clean, staff were attentive, relaxing and quiet area, same with breakfast, lots of options for everybody, the staff at the bar were always checking on us and asking if we wanted more drinks etc. We sat on our balcony at night to listen to the night life so we didn’t get caught up in the business of old town and even that was a nice experience, being able to relax and listen to the music. Overall, Hotel Califórnia is in such a nice location, right next to Old Town and everything is pretty much in walking distance. We’ll definitely be returning next year

This property is the least bit cooperative in terms of accomadations to start. The rooms are a 4x4 cubical box - they say you can fit two people in a room but that doesn’t consider luggage space. In addition the rooms have the air conditioner above your head so when it’s turned on your freezing and when it’s off you’re burning hot really no in between. Only option is to freeze and get sick. I would only come back here if there was a so no other option.
