Wonderful stay
This was our second time staying in this cabin and we really enjoyed the week. Loved the seclusion, the tremendous views of Twin Sisters and authentic character of the cabin. Scott and Dana were super responsive and helpful, and the cabin was spotless.

Beautiful secluded stay
We loved this house. It was at the end of the road and we were able to explore in the woods around us. The kids loved the porch and swings. There was plenty of room for 3 adults and 6 kids. Short drive to town and RMNP but we still felt out in the woods. We would stay again

Wonderful few days
We had a wonderful few days at the cabin. Not long enough! Owners were very responsive to any questions and the house is exactly as described. If we are lucky enough to travel back to Colorado, we will stay here again.

Family getaway
This was a great place for our extended family to enjoy. The seclusion or the location was perfect and the homies has plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The elk bugling in the morning was a big bonus.

Away from it all
We had a great stay at the house. It is off the beaten path, and gravel road to house took us 15 minutes after leaving highway the first time. By end of the week, we could get up and down from highway in 5-10 minutes. The house borders RMNP, and we enjoyed short walks directly from the property. Everything you would need is there, and internet was recently updated and quick enough for us with only 2 users. We listened to elk bugling all night through open windows, and you do not see another cabin from the house. My husband loved it, though I did wish it was a little quicker to Estes Park for main park access and food options.

Mountaintop Seclusion
This is a really wonderful property. A little bumpy getting there from Hwy 7 on about a mile of gravel road, but it's well worth the bumps and turns because the property is perfectly situated on top of a mountain and no other properties below it are visible. The views are spectacular, and the home is in excellent condition. The property owner, Dana, is very accommodating and easy to work with. We highly recommend this property if you're looking for seclusion and pristine natural beauty.

Beautiful cabin & location, conveniently located
We had a group of 4 adults and 3 kids, and we fully enjoyed staying at the house, relaxing with the views and playing in the yard. We also really enjoyed the easy drive to RMNP and Estes Park. The owners were very accommodating and the house is in terrific shape. Very comfortable for a large group.

Rocky Mountain Retreat
The cabin was just what we needed after three days in the backcountry at Lawn Lake. We were weary and tired and the cabin had all the essentials to relax and recover. I especially appreciated the TV being tuned into the kids channel for my toddlers. It made the next morning so awesome. The kids watched a show and we got to kick our legs up, drink some hot coffee, and soak in the Mountain View’s. We loved the quietness of the cabin, the comfortable beds, and the well stocked kitchen. Thank you so much!!!

Perfect mountain getaway!
How do you experience completely secluded and peaceful mountain living while being close to everything fun to do in the Rocky Mountains? Rent this place! You won’t be disappointed. An adventurous drive leads you to this very well maintained property with stunning views and forested privacy . You won’t want to leave but when you do everything fun to do and eat is really close by . Our hosts were very helpful with timely communication. Thanks for everything Scott and Dana... we had a vacation of a lifetime!

Exceeded our expectations!
We've stayed in several cabins and condos in and near Estes Park and Allenspark and this property is an absolute gem!!! It's hidden away right between Allenspark and Estes. We wanted a secluded location and thought land to explore and views would be a bonus, if we could find something that fit that bill. This property over-delivered on all fronts! Such a beautiful location! So private and serene! The ride up the driveway alone was beautiful. This cabin is very clean, with all the modern conveniences (Wifi, plenty of TV channels, never ran out of hot water, etc.) while still feeling like a cabin, which is what we wanted. The wrap-around deck provides excellent views of the surrounding property and mountains. The large family room was such a restful place to gather in the evening. The split bedroom layout was perfect for our family of 5, giving us parents the feel of being "away" for a bit, and the large washer and dryer were such a blessing to have throughout the week. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and was roomy enough for all of us to be present without being crowded. The labeling of the light switches was SO helpful as there are quite a few, and 2 bathrooms made morning and evening routines easy. This spacious home is obviously very well cared for, loved, and appreciated by it's owners. Our kids took walkie talkies and explored the surrounding 15 beautiful acres of forest. They had a blast! The owners were very clear on their expectations of us for their property and provided clear instructions for the cabin features and amenities, as well as recommendations for local food and great hiking suggestions. The only downside is that we had only 5 nights here, but felt truly privileged to have had the opportunity to enjoy it for that long. We look forward to renting this fantastic place again in the future!

Lovely, clean, secluded cabin with all the amenities.
It was just the two of us, but this set-up would be perfect for two couples with kids -- lots of room to spread out. The ONLY drawback was the access road up the mountain -- narrow and very bumpy -- but we made it okay as we went back and forth to Estes Park, Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park, etc. Recommend sitting out on the deck on a quiet afternoon and just look at the mountains.

Great place for a quiet vacation
Accommodations were excellent and had everything we needed for a 4 year old to a sixty year old. Very quiet, great views and had plenty of wilderness to roam. Close access to some good hiking trails and downtown Estes was close enough for any shopping or nightlife. The 'Driveway' was a little interesting. Would make this place our destination for the next visit to Estes Park.

If anything is lacking I can't imagine what it would be
I have used VRBO several times prior to this and always found the information to be accurate and the reviews helpful. This time I feel like the info may not quite have been correct. It was understated. I mean when you are down to labeling the light switches, which of course is helpful, then you have done everything to make the stay complete. What a facility! The wrap around deck with fencing was perfect for young children to play on. The layout is very well planned for two families, sleeping quarters on opposite ends and the kitchen and family room and dining areas all separate. The washer and dryer in a room with a lot of space is unusually nice. The fact that everything worked was a pleasant find, every light bulb, the tv remote, all kitchen appliances is another nice touch. A large table in the family room as well as one in the dining area proved handy, as did lots of counter space for working in the kitchen. Two complete baths helped with multiple people showering. The three doors opening out to the deck in back made for another convenient situation. Finally on just a personal note or two, I loved all of the wood used inside and out for the rustic look, and the location making you feel as though you have the entire mountain to yourself. The owners were exceptionally available, helpful, and quickly responsive throughout the process from start to finish. The only reason for not giving a higher star rating is that there aren't any higher ones!!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Shadow of Long’s Peak Cabin!
We LOVED staying in this beautiful place! It is the perfect combination of convenience & seclusion. It is located near every activity- such as Rocky Mountain National Park & Wild Basin, jeep tours, horseback rides, hikes, bowling alley, YMCA pool, marina with paddle boats & bike rentals, go carts, restaurants, shopping etc. But- once you turn off the paved road & head up the hill, you are welcomed to a whole different world! This is the last house on the road, so you enter the gate into complete privacy & solitude. Tranquil pines & fluttering aspens surround you. Birds & squirrels are all around. Deer & elk sometimes pass by. We sat out on the deck and gazed at the gorgeous mountain view while grilling dinner. The cabin is stocked with every comfort of home. Just grab some groceries from Safeway in Estes, and enjoy relaxing. The dishwasher & laundry room make clean up easy. The bedrooms & bathrooms are configured to work for several people. The TV and internet work well. The two living areas allow for some to enjoy being "plugged in" to all that, while another group can be playing board games or doing puzzles etc. The owners are a pleasure to work with, and communicate well. We highly recommend this rental, and look forward to returning again soon! God Bless!

Fantastic get-away vacation
Our family of 8 recently enjoyed this wonderful mountain home. The home was comfy and spacious and had everything we needed. We were close to Estes Park, RMNP, and many other great hikes and sights. The first night we arrived, we spotted a moose feeding in a nearby meadow followed by elk a few early mornings later. Awesome. We loved the view of Twin Sister's mountains from the patio and spent as much time here as possible, sipping our morning coffee and relaxing after a day of hiking/exploring. We even enjoyed the night time views of the stars and moon. Our only regret was not having a few more days to stay. We would definitely stay at Shadow of Long's Peak again when returning to EP.
