Regent hotel stay

Lovely hotel. Staff helpful and friendly. Food, particularly breakfast, very good. Lovely scrambled eggs and really enjoyed the lemon and chocolate bread - would come back just for that!

Lovely hotel next to Lake Windermere.

Pros: Beautiful deco. Smartly dressed and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms.
Location: Lots of walking trails. Boat trips on Lake Windermere. Shopping in Ambleside Windermere and Kendal.
Perfect position, next to the Lake and close to Ambleside shops. Spent more time in the hotel due to bad weather than we had hoped for but was very pleased with the several small lounges to have a quiet drink and read a book in.

Very comfortable, great location

Pros: Location, quiet room, very comfortable mattress. Good food
Cons: Showers. Over-bath showers are never comfortable and always leak. At least in some rooms I would take out the bath, replace with large walk in shower
Location: Handy for Ambleside town centre and a base for walking
A 2 night break, had a superior double which gave us plenty of room to spread out, and was very comfortable (including the mattress). Food, particularly the breakfasts were excellent.

Comfortable hotel

Pros: Great breakfast and friendly staff
Cons: Bedroom dark and needed updating
Location: Very close to the north end of the lake so plenty around there.
Very friendly staff great location for the lake and ten minutes walk into Ambleside. Our bedroom was a little tired and dark but other than that a very pleasant stay.

Ambleside is a very nice small town and the stay in this hotel made the experience of the region even worth.
