Convenient location, relatively comfortable
The location is very convenient for those arriving by train. Very close to Centraal Station and easy to walk to. The hotel is very tucked in on a pedestrian only street. The street is very busy with shops, bars and restaurants. There is a grocery store very near by. There are very steep stairs with no lifts, so just be aware of that. No rooms are on the ground floor so not accessible for those with mobility issues. The rooms are small but nice. They’re relatively up to date and comfortable. It feels safe because you need to use your room key to get in the building.

It's conveniently located close to Amsterdam Centraal and the city centre. Walkable and lots of dining options. The rooms are very very tiny. The stairs are steep.

I picked this because it was close to the station. It was not cheap so I assumed that it was a regular hotel. Wrong -- it is more like a hostel, no facilities, small room, staircase rather than lift (an issue if you are on the top floor). And on a pedestrian street, so that a taxi is not an option. All of that being said, it was clean, and well kept . I just got it all wrong. But it worked out, more or less.

** A Complete Disappointment – Not Worth Your Money** I recently had the misfortune of staying at this hotel, and I must say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Despite the high price, the room was shockingly tight and offered minimalistic amenities that were nowhere near sufficient for a comfortable stay. The lack of basic comforts was glaringly evident. There was no desk or working space, which was a significant inconvenience as I had important work to attend to. To add to the frustration, the safe in the room was non-functional, rendering it useless and raising concerns about the security of my valuables. Given the expensive rate, I expected a certain standard of quality, but what I encountered was far below par. The overall experience was extremely disappointing, and I would not rate this hotel more than one star. It is baffling how such a substandard establishment is allowed to be advertised on Expedia. In all my years of traveling and staying in hotels, this one stands out as completely unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for accommodation.

Amazing Amsterdam hotel
Hotel was so nice, clean and comfortable. Modern design. Staff was so friendly and accommodating as we arrived quite late due to flight delays. The location was perfect! 5 min walk from train station and located in the center of activity.

On first look we were not sure we would stay there. Very long steep stairs tiny room and question area. We decided to stay and in the end were very pleased. Staff were all amazing and insisted on carrying our luggage and not expectation of a tip. In the end the area was great and we actually felt very safe. Easy walk to central station and literally hundreds of restaurants coffee shops bars and a few supermarkets. Would recommend

The front desk attendant was very nice and even helped us with our luggage. However, I would not recommend this location to anyone with mobility issues due to the steep stairs. The location was very conveniently located close to Amsterdam Central Station. In fact we rolled our luggage from the train platform directly to the hotel.

Really great staff. Very helpful. Can't do enough for their guests. Steep stairs up to the reception and accommodation, typical of the beautiful, traditional Amsterdam houses. It's an old building that's been thoughtfully modernised to give its guests a safe, comfortable stay in the heart of the city. Ask the reception staff about tickets and cycle hire. There might be a discount available! All in all, a terrific place to stay. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my fellow travellers.

The staff was exceptional! We’re in our 60’s and they gave us a larger room on the lowest level at no extra charge. The person at the desk also helped us carry our luggage down the stair when we checked out and wouldn’t accept a tip! Everyone was very friendly and smiling every time we walked by the front desk! This was above and beyond our expectations. The hotel is in a great location - only a few minutes walk to Centraal Station and lots of restaurants and markets are close by. The room was small but clean and the bathroom had been recently renovated (very nice). The stairs are steep but this is common in Europe and we would certainly stay here again!

This hotel has terrible stairs without elevator. You may not book this hotel if you are senior people because you have to carry your luggage by yourself to climb the very steep dangerous stairs to reach your room at high level.

Is location worth more than your mental peace?
Good location… Otherwise complete disaster. No elevator, steepest inclining narrow stairs imaginable. My room had own private shower but shared bathroom. Little white bugs falling from ceiling, spiders on other wall corner. Smells moldy inside outside smells like piss. I honestly needed a room for the night payed 200 didn’t even sleep, refused to take shower. If I was back in California I’d have the health and safety department shut this place down.
