I was a bit hesitant after booking because of the hit or miss reviews, but it was one of the nicer affordable and convenient locations for my trip to Disneyland. My family’s stay at The Viv went better than expected.
I noticed a lot of the negative reviews stemmed from unsatisfactory interactions with staff. I can see why some people may have thought that as not everyone seemed approachable, but my first interaction (front desk) was pleasant as he actually had a smile on his face and made an effort to small talk. The valet personnel were also very helpful when I needed help figuring out how to use the app for the Disneyland shuttle. Service was prompt when more toilet paper was requested for our room too. The only “sour” interaction I had with a staff member was when I called to see if I could check out of our room a little later. Whoever I spoke to didn’t seem very invested in their job.
The only complaint I have is that the room could have been a little cleaner - more attention to detail. One of the glass cups had a sticky smudge on it and there was dust and a previous guest’s hair tie behind the bed. On the day of check out, our sink was a bit clogged. I would also suggest the hotel keep an extra roll of toilet paper and tissue box. My family of 4 went through both quickly.
There is always room for improvement and I believe that management is taking all the reviews to heart and making changes. I would recommend The Viv to others and would gladly return.
