A front porch with a view of Apalachicola’s historic Chestnut Cemetery welcomes you to a completely renovated cottage with the comforts of home including a modern kitchen, vaulted ceilings, nickel-gap and original hard pine flooring. Outside the up cycled garden gate and fence welcomes you to the meandering paths that leads to an artist studio which can be visited upon request. The garden is embellished with sculptures along with a variety species of plants. Potted herbs when in season are available for you to enjoy. Relax on the bench and smell the flowers and watch the birds taking turns in the birdbath while taking in the textures and colors of the garden designed by a local renowned landscape designer.
Located a scenic 15 minutes drive to the pristine beaches of Cape San Blas and St George Island which was ranked the number ONE beach in America 2023 by Dr. Beach.
Works of local artists embellish the space of this beautiful home making it a place of joy to be shared with loved ones. A gas grill is ready for use off the back steps. A doggie gate is available for your convenience.

Perfect Oasis

A Little Slice of Heaven!
We were away for 8 weeks and this was our final destination before heading home. It was also the best destination, adorable cottage and relaxing time! Daphne’s cottage was perfection all around. The artwork, the fenced in back yard, colorful dishes..truly all the comforts of home. Beds super comfy! The location was so close to everything, so many dining options, beautiful galleries and all dog friendly! I hope we can make this a destination vacation in the future!

We loved our stay at this VRBO in Apalachicola. It was very comfortable, warm, cozy, and dog friendly. We enjoyed the closeness to town and the privacy of the backyard. The beds and baths were clean and comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything necessary to prepare a light lunch or a full dinner.Daphne was super responsive to all questions and made us feel right at home. We would definitely stay again!!

Very Homey, and perfect place.
We enjoyed our stay at this adorable small cottage. Daphne was very accommodating and so sweet! It’s the perfect place to stay for any occasion or any time of year. The cottage is very well designed, very comfortable. We walked to town, did not need the car. The piggly wiggly and CVS are very close. The garden is enclosed so my dog could not get out.Dapne is very nice and helpful. Our stay was wonderful.

Spent a week in this lovely, light, pleasant cottage. Well appointed, original art throughout. Surprisingly quiet location. About the best example I’ve seen of a renovation blending comfort and character. Daphne was kindness itself. Planning on staying there again, Lord willing.

Perfect Getaway
We stayed in the cottage for a long weekend with our two adult sons. The cottage itself easily slept the four of us, there was free coffee and snacks, it was very clean, decorated tastefully, and had everything we could have asked for, including beach towels, olive oil, and a grill.(we got steaks from the nearby Piggly Wiggly). The location was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do in Apalachicola, so we never had to drive anywhere. We had coffee on the porch, took a nap on the lounger in the garden, took walks around the neighborhood... it was perfect.

Home away from home.
This home could not have been better. Daphne, besides being a wonderful hostess, is an artist and her creative side flows over into the decor of her home. Charming is a perfect adjective. Located Close to everything in Apalochicola, my husband and I had a fabulous time. Oh and check out her wonderful metal work in the studio out back, very talented Lady!

We had a wonderful stay at Glance at the Past! Daphne was great and did a wonderful job with the home. It was absolutely perfect with everything we needed. Her studio is on the property but don’t let that hold you back from booking this home, it did not interrupt our stay at all! We would definitely book this home again! Very clean, great location to walk to town or grocery store and pet friendly!
