Secluded wine country retreat, full kitchen

This spacious secluded guest suite in the heart of California's Central Coast wine country is on a quiet three-acre gated property. Surrounded by ancient oaks, springtime wildflowers and songbirds, your Retreat has everything you'd possibly need: private entrance, full kitchen, double shower, laundry, fireplace, giant flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, private patio, covered carport, air conditioning, and a bottle of wine from a local winemaker. Minutes from vineyards, golf, restaurants and beaches.

This is a very large open floor plan (1200 sq ft) Guest Suite with bathroom, kitchen, laundry, and patio. It's physically attached to the large main home of your hosts (Mike and Janice), but separated by a thick structural wall, giving it the "feel" of a separate structure. Private entrance with electronic touchscreen lock, plus lockable sliding glass doors onto private patio. The newly-carpeted Guest Suite is equipped with a comfortable queen-size bed, a large semi-circular couch, a convertible sofa-bed, and a dining table for four. The bathroom is equipped with a double-wide shower and built-in bench.

There's a wall-mounted giant flat-screen TV with a DirecTV receiver/DVR. Also broadband Internet with Wi-Fi. One wall has a large brick wood-burning fireplace with gas firestarter. Another wall features large glass sliding doors (with sheers and blackout drapes) that open onto a private patio. You can park your vehicle in a dedicated large covered carport adjacent to the Guest Suite.

You are welcome to stroll about the three-acre gated property, and to park in the covered carport reserved for guest use.

Your hosts Mike and Janice occupy the large main house next door. They work in home-offices, so one of them is almost always available if you need something. They tend to be private people, so how much interaction you have with them is entirely up to you.

Located in a quiet lush unincorporated rural area about 1.5 miles from the US 101 freeway. Five minutes' drive from Nipomo (shopping and restaurants) and from three championship golf courses (Blacklake, Monarch Dunes, Cypress Ridge); 10 minutes' drive from Arroyo Grande (more shopping and restaurants); and 15 minutes' drive from multiple recreational beaches (Oceano, Grover, Pismo, Shell, Avila). Situated in the heart of the Central Coast wine country, just minutes from vineyards, wineries, and wine-tasting opportunities galore! Private wine tours, hiking trails, ocean dunes, and Cal Poly are just part of the allure to this beautiful part of California.

Private vehicle is preferable, but Uber, Lyft and taxis are available as well. Located a 1.5 miles from 101 and with one freeway stop you will access Arroyo Grande Village or center Nipomo in less than 7 minutes. The freeway RARELY has traffic jams and traveling 65+ mph is quite reliable and comfortable.
San Luis Obispo airport is about $35 one way by taxi or Lyft or Uber. Rental cars may be secured through the airport.

Nice and quiet sanctuary
We enjoyed our stay near the 5 cities area. We were about 6 miles from beaches. Very restful environment. Clean. Would be nice if it had a gas grill and an updated foam bed. The queen bed I believe is the old mattress and box spring type. So you feel your partner moving around. The newer firmer memory foam mattresses are the best and would really improve sleep. The kitchen could use a new microwave with a turntable for more even cooking and reheating. Bring some ear plugs as the husky gets lonely and whined some mornings at sunrise. we are early risers so we didn't mind. His other dog friend passed away recently we were told. Great wifi and satellite TV. Great patio to lounge around under some magnificent Oak trees.

Perfect spot for Central Coast wine travel
This rental is ideally located for exploring Central Coast wine, midway between Paso Robles and Buellton/Los Olivos/Lompoc. We got to those destinations in about an hour or less. The unit was clean, well stocked with coffee and cooking necessities. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was just fine for getting ready each day. The ranch house is secluded and safe, yet only minutes away from the freeway. We enjoyed walking around the property each morning. The caretaker, Frank, was there if we needed him. Very nice man. The rental owner checked in on us by message to make sure everything was ok. While this isn’t the swankiest of rentals, it clicked all of our boxes. We do little in the rentals we use but sleep and eat breakfast anyway. We thoroughly enjoyed this one. Ideal location. We hope to come back!

Coastal retreat
The setting is in lovely coastal oaks and grounds. The kitchen is large and the washer and dryer worked great. The furnishings, both inside and out are tired and need updating. The easy access to coastal towns and Cal Poly was very good. The handyman, Frank, was extremely helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay!
