Porto Cervo, the undisputed capital of the Costa Smeralda, is an exclusive seaside village built around an inlet that resembles the shape of a deer, and has become the kingdom of luxury vacations. In the 1960s, Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, captivated by the beauty of this coastline, decided to purchase land in this corner of Gallura to create a paradise for elite international tourism. Today, the new marina, with 700 berths, is one of the largest and best-equipped in the Mediterranean and is home to the prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, which organizes international sailing regattas.

In the summer, it’s easy to encounter movie and TV stars while shopping in the luxury boutiques of Porto Cervo, a place that hosts daily encounters with the international jet set, along with parties and sporting events (especially golf) organized by fine restaurants, luxury hotels, and exclusive clubs.
