Dog-friendly King BD Full Bath in the Epicenter + Private Outdoor Balcony

If history repeats itself, then may it always be a replay of Asheville’s Gilded Age. If walls could talk, then a centenarian newsroom would have some spectacular stories to tell. And if location is everything, then 120 College Street is the epicenter of all things Asheville.

Welcome to the intersection of past & present, to stories of the Gilded Age, and to the ideal home base for Asheville vacations.

Welcome to The Daily Condo 201 at the Asheville Times Building.

FAST, LOCAL SERVICE
Customer service is the cornerstone of our business. We know it begins with your very first email and doesn’t stop until you’ve checked out, a smile on your face.

So, here’s our promise: You’re our priority. We want you to have a fantastic time in Asheville and at 120 College Street. That’s why we’re 100% local – just minutes away, should the need arise! – and available 24/7 and always quick to respond to any request in addition to our tech guru who is on hand at a moment’s notice, in case any issues arise. We promise, we won’t leave you hanging.

And that means, no vacation rental nightmares. If you’re locked out, we’re there! If the washing machine breaks down mid-wash, we’re there! Or, if you’re just desperate for a restaurant recommendation, we’re also there. Just a call away, whenever you need us.

Each unit is professionally cleaned by the #1 voted cleaning company in Asheville: Rest assured 120 College Street was cleaned using only Earth-friendly green products and perfume-free detergents, by a staff that receives a living wage.

Bottom line: We know that the details – the big AND small details – are what count. They can make or break your vacation. So, we’re committed. Committed to you and your Asheville experience. (Reviews don’t lie!)

We look forward to welcoming you to Asheville!

Welcome

Welcome to the Asheville Times Building at 120 College Street, the historic and cultural center of downtown Asheville and former home to The Asheville Times. Welcome to a historic building that still unfolds over original hardwood floors, five-panel doors, antique doorknobs, banisters, and railings.

Welcome to a home-away-from home located above the Black Mountain College Museum and Art Center and with its own private terrace. A downtown condo, just footsteps to fine restaurants and trendy nightlife, art galleries and antique shops.

Yes, it’s safe to say – this is it. You’ve found it.

Over 500 square-feet of historic space, The Daily Condo 201 offers a blend of antique and contemporary furnishings, neutral tones and bright pops of green and yellow, solid woods and airy windows, architectural touches and high design. This is everything you never knew you needed in your downtown Asheville experience.

And indeed, downtown Asheville is here, RIGHT here. Walk out your door and you’re on College Street, the historic center of Asheville and jumping-off point for art walks and ghost tours, microbrew flights and year-round festivals, fine dining and museum-hopping.

You’re in the middle of it all and exactly where you want to be.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

Walk into the shadow of history (and of the iconic Jackson Building), and you immediately feel the pull: 120 College Street is a place where old meets new, where history blends seamlessly with today – where a contemporary patina adds depth to the monuments, parks, and stories that have resided here for more than a century. Indeed, this is a kind of wanderlust (and wonder-lust) completely and uniquely ours. Welcome to Asheville!
Here, in remarkable downtown, College Street is one of the most historic-yet-hip addresses in the city – a promenade that straddles the ephemeral boundaries between old-world charm and modern style.

And 120 College Street is at the center of it all: above the Black Mountain College Museum and overlooking the Jackson Building, across from Roger McGuire Green in front of City Hall and the County Building, and Pack Square Park with a large open green space on a slope leading to the main stage, three water features including a splash fountain and original art by regional artists. There are many seating areas surrounded by native trees and shrubs. This beautiful 6.5-acre public space is an extra amenity for visitors to relax and linger. This is Asheville history, respectfully updated for the 21st century.

So, while Real Life may be about compromise – sacrifice This to get That – we believe that vacation should be a special time. This is when you get both This and That, no compromise required.

The Asheville Times Building at 120 College Street is your no-compromise-required destination: at the intersection of past and present, in the shadow of the Jackson Building and overlooking Pack Square Park, and enveloped by the energy and charm of downtown life. The Daily Condo 201 embodies and embraces the Asheville scene – a scene that draws designers and artists, creatives and music lovers, foodies and artisanal beverage aficionados alike.

Here’s what awaits:

Dining: Asheville is a food-and-drink dream – there’s a reason Livability named us a Top 10 Foodie City! – and from 120 College Street, you’re just minutes to much of your must-eat list, including French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Curate, Sovereign Remedies, Twisted Laurel, Over Easy Cafe, City Bakery, Bouchon, Mela, and Rhubarb.

Culture: There’s nothing quite like Asheville culture to put some pep in your step and some erudition in your life. Be sure to schedule stops at the Black Mountain College Museum (your downstairs neighbor!) and the Asheville Art Museum. Finally, don’t forget to checkout a show at The Orange Peel or The Grey Eagle!

History: From the 120 College Street, you’re just minutes to many of Asheville’s historic landmarks, including the Vance Memorial, Monument Corner, the Thomas Wolfe Memorial, and Asheville’s historic Flatiron Building, not to mention numerous statues, plaques, and monuments that commemorate the city’s past.

Urban Trail Art & History Tour: Art and history lovers, walk into history on Asheville’s Urban Trail, a 1.7-mile walking tour home to 30+ stops at creative landmarks, public sculptures, dioramas, and more. It begins at Pack Place, almost at your front door! The renowned Blue Spiral 1 Gallery and Momentum Gallery are a couple of blocks away and the Black Mountain College Museum + Art Center is right downstairs.

Festivals: From Downtown After Five (once a month, in summer) and the Lexington Avenue Arts Fest, to Drum Circle and Art in the Park, downtown Asheville and the River Arts District are ripe with arts, culture, and creative pursuits.

FAMILIES & GROUPS WELCOME
Traveling with other families or as a group? Good news! We manage three condos at the 120 College Street: The Gazette Condo 200 (2BR/2.5 BA), The Daily Condo 201 (1BR/1BA), and The News Condo 202 (1BR/BA), with a total of 4 bedrooms to accommodate 8 guests.

Stay close (but not too close!) to your friends and loved ones, if they reserve:

The News Condo 202 at 120 College Street (1 BR, 1BA; occupancy: 4)

The Gazette Condo 200 at 120 College Street (2BR, 2.5 BA; occupancy: 4)

EASY PARKING
When it comes to parking, 120 College Street could just as easily be name Easy Street: parking here is simple! And that’s exactly how it should be, when you’re on vacation.
You don’t need a car to enjoy downtown Asheville (our Walk Score: 86 – “Very Walkable”!), but if you bring one, here are your options:

Parking Lots: Just west of 120 College Street is a pay per space parking lot, at the corner of College Street and N. Market Street at 9 N. Market Street 28801. However these spaces are reserved until weekdays after 5:30 and weekend days. Please note the sign regarding reserved spaces for specific times and days . This lot directly beside the building is only open to the public after 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, and all day on weekends ($6 per day/entry). If you’re looking for a more long-term solution, the public parking deck at 164 College St is best.

Renaissance Hotel parking lot is a large paved parking area, with an entrance that is occasionally open off College Street (across the street from the City/County Plaza) and also has an entrance/exit off of Woodfin Street. It is a $20 /24 hr.

Parking Decks: Our preferred parking option! The nearest public parking garage is located at 164 College Street. Both the City of Asheville and Buncombe County operate safe, reliable and inexpensive parking decks. The hour is free, $2.50/hr each additional hour or a portion thereof and the full-day rate is just $12, so feel free to leave your vehicle overnight. There are several parking decks within walking distance of 120 College Street.

On-Street Parking: There are more than 700 on-street metered parking spaces in downtown Asheville. All meters are for short-term parking (two hours or less, as marked), at a cost of $1.50 per hour. On-street metered parking is free on holidays, Sundays, and every day after 6 pm. Again, you can easily pay for metered parking via the PassportParking app and many meters accept credit cards.

Loading Zones: If you’re arriving via taxi, Uber, or Lyft, feel free to unload in one of Asheville’s dedicated loading zones, limited to 30 minutes (or less, as marked). One 30 minute loading zone parking space is on N. Market/ Walnut St.

If parking is a concern, feel free to message us. We are more than happy to help you find the right parking location at 120 College Street!

Asheville gem
First of all, this is a first-class property. The process of taking an old property into a great condo was extremely well done. Very comfortable, high-quality finish out throughout. Lots of nice touches and thoughtful amenities. You are literally right downtown, walking distance to shopping, culture sights and dining. If you are not used to city noise, you might want to consider the provided ear plugs. This is a great property but remember the parking issues (about 2 blocks away - $12 per night). We would stay again just because of the quality of the place.

Amazing Rental in a Perfect Part of Downtown
Everything about this rental was perfect. I especially liked how responsive the property manager was and how easy she made the process - she was one of the best ever. Love how this rental is in a quiet part of downtown - even though you're still downtown. The unit itself is the perfect size for a couple - really great. The parking idea to park in the county garage down the street worked well.

Sooooo fantastic. Even walk from parking garage was easy. Loved how building access worked. Wonderful decor and space. Balcony was to die for. Enjoyed people watching over morning coffee. Sleeping with windows open was heavenly. Felt completely safe. Apartment gets a little warm in the afternoon, but blackout shade are on every window. Finally, location, location, location. Easy access to all of downtown.

Perfect Location (Especially if you bring your dog!)
This location is perfect if you're looking to take a trip to Asheville. The reason why I included "especially if you bring your dog" in the review title is because almost every brewery we went to was dog friendly and there's so many great ones that you can walk to with your dog from this location no problem. The instructions for parking given to us by the host were CLUTCH. The 164 College Street garage made life super easy and for moments we needed the car for a bit, there was always open street parking around the corner. The property itself is unbelievably clean, and the outdoor patio is a nice bonus. The shower was amazing, for real. We had a great time and if we ever come back to Asheville this is the property we will be looking to stay at!

Perfect location, very clean and safe
My husband and I had a wonderful long weekend in Asheville. Parking in the lot just down the street worked out perfect and was never complicated. We could walk to everything, the location was ideal. Very noisy late on Saturday night with all the crazy (much younger than me) clubbers but the white noise machine worked perfect. Loved that there was coffee and creamer provided. We truly could just enjoy and not worry about getting groceries when we arrived around 8:00 the first night.

Great Location!
The location was perfect! Right in the heart of downtown Asheville and walking distance to everything. Very clean and modern. Comfortable living quarters and quiet. The code entry gives you an extra sense of security especially being right in the heart of the city. While there is not parking at the location there are many close options within walking distance nearby. Love this stay was in a historic building as well. Definitely keeping this stay as one of my go to spots when I visit Asheville!

A great weekend
Communication and entry into the property was super simple. The downtown was perfect for walking everywhere downtown. We parked our truck in the lot beside the property (only available for $5 per day on Fri night, Saturday and Sunday. Property was awesome, clean, well equipped, and comfy. The club next door was rocking on Friday and Saturday but we had no problem sleeping and did not need the ear plugs. Mattress was on the firm side but that worked out OK as well. I highly recommend this spot and would rent this again when back in Asheville. PS - the restaurant downstairs has great sushi, etc and Strada had great Italian food 😀. Thank you!

Great Property, Terrible Communication
Very nice condo, one of only 3 units in the building, located above the Black Mountain University Museum. Well equipped kitchen and condo (except there was only one teaspoon in the entire unit, not good). The bad part was communication. We were never able to figure out how to communicated with the owner or any actual human being. Booking and check-in where handled by an automated agent. You could not respond to the bot emails, they were send only. We kept getting emails asking us how things were and telling us to contact them with questions. Except you could not respond to any of the emails. Thankfully the only thing we wanted to contact them was about no teaspoons, so it wasn't much of a problem. We're happy no serious issues occurred.
