Front desk was extremely rude. I was supposed to receive 2 water bottles and was never given any. When I tried to call to ask, nobody answered the phone. I had to get in touch with a reservation specialist to connect me to the front desk. Then they told me they were out of water and that there are vending machines on the floors. My floor did not have a vending machine. I told the front desk and they had me walk to multiple vending machines that were all out of water. When I told the front desk woman, she said “well we don’t have any water then” to which I replied I thought you all have vending machines on every floor. She assumed that I would walk every floor of the hotel to find a vending machine. So I said well can you go find some. She asked if I wanted to speak with a manager and then he came out with 2 water bottles within 2 minutes. Then asked did I say thank you and called ME rude because I didn’t say thank you.

Customer service leaves a lot to desire at the front desk. I called several times and no one ever picked up. I had to literally change to just come down to the lobby to find someone to help us. The bathroom, though thankfully clean, was extremely outdated. The buffet breakfast is definitely not worth it for $25, the staff in the restaurant was very nice as well as the valet service guys.

This hotel is not worthy of a 4-star hotel at all! 1/ The night I moved in, I was told that the heating system of the hot water for the whole North Tower broken, that means there’s literally no hot water for shower, which is ridiculous! Later, I am forced to switch my room to the South Tower. 2/ The down-button of the elevator at the 8th floor of North Tower is broken. For example, if I wanna go to the 1st floor, I have to press the “up-button” outside the elevator and then select “Lobby” once I am inside… 3/ poor service: 1) after I reported the elevator issue with fromt desk, the engineer never come although they said they will come later. 2) I never received the toothpaste after the front desk has told me they will send this to my room.

It was not a completely terrible stay… however, I do feel like I’ve had better stays at hotels with 2 stars in comparison to the Courtland Grand Hotel’s 4. It was my first time in Atlanta, and I feel like what I saw online booking my room, was not exactly what I was given when I arrived. As a result, I doubled the amount of time I originally planned to spend outside of the hotel because I had a hard time thoroughly enjoying my time on the premises. Subsequently, I didn’t utilize the amenities like the pool and fitness center. Additionally, I was unable to use the food vouchers whenever I was actually there because the restaurant was closed in each given case. When I first arrived, I dropped my things in my (first) room, discovered I could not utilize the WiFi from where I was placed, walked down from the south tower to the front desk to address the issue, returned to the 10th floor to collect my things, and walked back down to receive my new room on a different floor. Once I got to my new room, my thermostat would not effectively heat the room up the way I wanted… In short, I do feel a bit robbed out of $81 (for destination fees) given, I didn’t feel comfortable enough to lounge around the hotel and utilize any of it’s amenities. I must honestly say, my stay at the Courtland was underwhelming. I’d almost feel remiss recommending this hotel to someone staying in Atlanta- especially for the first time.
