Although the aim seems to be to reduce services and have a smaller footprint, this hotel offers tiny rooms and limited access to staff when there is a problem. The modern, fun interfaces for room controls using an iPad don't make up for missing basic amenities.

I absolutely loved my stay at citizenM Austin. It’s in a great location, central to a lot of things. I loved the vibe and how the room is set up. Will definitely come back! The view from the rooftop pool was beautiful too!

The room was great. Rooms are smaller and cozy like hotels in Europe. Everything is controlled by the tablet computer or the app if you download it. I really likes the black out blinds they don’t let any light in. It’s self checkin and the staff was helpful explaining things during check-in. The only complaint is the elevators took a long time and I usually took the stairs down. My room key would not work to open the doors from the stairwell.

Great place to stay in Austin. Bustling location, and very luxe feel for a very reasonable price. More of a hotel for solo travelers and couples as opposed to a family stay hotel, though, is something to note.
