HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED THE STARS IN MONTANA?
We have been in the valley for almost 50 years, love the land, the people and the entire park in general! My parents had a place on the majestic St Mary lake where we grew up in the wild every weekend and 2 months every summer exploring all the hidden gems glacier park had to offer. We built our getaway on Duck lake in 2006 for the fishing, wildlife and the utter beauty of the Montana rocky mountains just for our 3 boys to have the same upbringing I had. Now as they are getting older and moving in their own directions our place seems to be empty more and more of the time. We are happy to open up our piece of paradise to explorers of all types to experience a piece of life in Montana's wilderness.
The property is fully chain linked fenced keeping you safe while watching the boundless wildlife with views from all directions. over 100ft beach with clean weed free water (swear its the best fishing area on the lake) a dock, 2 fire pits one on the beach one in the trees for the windy days. The loft cabin we are offering is brand new. It is super unique, rustic and modern in every way. We have an assortment of kayaks, canoes and all kinds of water sports and fishing gear, welcome for everyone to use. Our main cabin on the property is huge and will probably sleep 20. It isn't quite vrbo ready so we are looking forward to a summer 2023 opening. Your stay will be quiet as we will only be there on weekends and for cleaning.
Warning!! we are Canadian "A" (yup dogsleds and igloos) we live an hour away across the border. We just just added an inflatable air bed just to add a little more comfort for a larger group.
  • Air-conditioned cabin with kitchen, balcony and sofa bed

Wonderful Stay
We absolutely loved our stay! Abby and Anna were incredibly kind and quick to respond to any questions I had about the reservation. We were able to find the home quickly, which was in a perfect location to go to the east side of Glacier National Park in the morning (around a 20 minute drive). The home itself was absolutely stunning with beautiful, custom details / features including resin woodwork around the home. We loved the proximity to the lake and ended up kayaking one day and eating outside to enjoy the view. At night, we also enjoyed the beautiful, star-studded night sky with glimpses of the aurora in September. We loved our stay and can't wait to visit again!

Cozy Loft with Great Views
This a great place for a short stay. Abby & Anna are excellent hosts! They are very attentive, answered all questions, and were always helpful. The bed is very comfortable, the shower surprisingly spacious, and I love the ambiance of the whole loft! Unfortunately, we were too tired by the time we got back from the park at night to enjoy the beautiful deck & views. Things I would point out: 1. There is no address displayed on the property, only a sign saying “Glacier Getaway”, which is unfortunately not the property name here on VRBO. Follow the directions you are given closely, and you will be fine. 2. You have to take a long, rough, gravel road to get to the loft. It usually took us 20 minutes to/from the main road 464. The many ruts & potholes made me glad I had a rental car, and not my own.

Great stay
It is a beautiful property - and everything about it appeared like it was just built! Inside there were so many little things that might be needed stashed away and ready to be used. Easy access to the lake, with everything you could need for fishing is ready to go. The hosts were great as well. I would like to go again

We loved Getaway Glacier. The loft was very nicely decorated, comfortable & well stocked. It was a short drive to Many Glacier & St Mary. Abby & Anna were amazing…very friendly & helpful. Chuck caught 5 fish right in front of their property. We hope to return some day!

Great time at a great location with great hosts.
We had a great stay. Abby and Anna were very helpful and friendly, going out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. Our son had a blast fishing in the lake for rainbow trout and it was a nice bonus to be able to take the kayaks out on the lake during our downtime. Would recommend and would happily stay there again despite the rough road to get to the property.

Great location!
We enjoyed the tranquility of this location. We have previously stayed at another location here on the lake and this one gets a much higher rating from us. If you want a place to stay near Glacier that is quite with all the features of a home away from home, this is your place! The road getting here is a little rough, but you have to consider the location to be the reward. Great stay!

Best Hosts Ever
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Abby and Anna take VRBO hospitality to a whole new level. The place is very clean and well stocked. The location is superb, easy access to Many Glacier and St. Mary entrances. We loved being able to swim, fish, kayak and paddle boat in Duck Lake. How many VRBO hosts will watch your brisket on the smoker while you are out hiking and wrap it for you when it hits 160 degrees? Abby is the only one that I know of!

What a find!
First and foremost, we can’t say enough about Abby and Anna. Such nice hosts and was a pleasure to spend some time with them. We asked for food suggestions in the area (which they provided), but also offered us a couple of their steaks. We couldn’t pass that up! The property is right on the lake with mountains as the backdrop. You are open to use any of the kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, or paddle boards as well. The loft was perfect, but I had no idea about the deck when I rented. We spent most of the time out there just enjoying the view. Was the perfect home base while visiting the east side of Glacier NP. I would definitely recommend staying here and we are hoping to be back whenever our next trip to Glacier is. Thank you Abby & Anna!

A Rare Find in East Glacier
This property was an absolute gem near Many Glaciers - quick and direct access to the park. Abby and Anna were fantastic hosts. Everything was squeaky clean including the outdoor patio. The apartment was stocked with everything we could ever think of needing. The in-floor radiant heat made the stay so cozy. The little kitchen was a dream to cook in with an air fryer, flip waffle maker, griddle and micro/oven combo. I used them all. Morning waffles were a treat and a rainy day lunch of grilled cheese and tomato soup soothed the soul. Abby was an incredible resource for information about the area. We would 100% recommend staying here.

Excellent hospitality with excellent views
We had a wonderful stay at Abby and Anna’s! The cabin was perfect for our family of 3 to use as a base as we explored Glacier. The road to get to the cabin is a little rough, but if you go slow it’s not too bad. One of the days we went for a hike and got completely soaked due to a rainstorm. Abby and Anna were kind enough to allow us to use their washer and dryer in the main house so that we didn’t have to find places to hang out sopping wet clothes. There are plenty of amenities inside and outside the cabin. My husband LOVED the convection cook top and my step-daughter had fun trying the paddle board on the lake. Abby and Anna were very friendly and even gave us some tips on when and where to spot some bears. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a base camp on the east side of Glacier!

Everything you can hope for
Not enough good things could be said about Abby and Anna. They were such welcoming hosts and went so far to not only share their home, their extra equipment for fishing and boating, but cooked dinner and shared with us, after a long day of hiking. Brisket, au jus, bread, and brownies! You absolutely cannot beat the view out on Duck Lake, looking back towards the mountains of Glacier Park. Thank you Abby and Anna for your beautiful hospitality!

One of our favorite stays!
This property was easily one of the best places we have stayed at in Montana. The property was easy to find with the directions given by the hosts. We were meet by the host when we arrived and he was super nice and very helpful making sure we knew how to operate the heating system. When we first arrived the property was very clean and there was an abundance of supplies in case you happened to forget something. We did not have any cell service, but the wifi was much better than I was expecting for 3 of us using it at the same time. The road coming in was pretty rough, but as long as you take it slow and avoid the big potholes you should be fine. Luckily it is a very short drive on that part of the road (nothing like the drive into Many Glacier). The important question is would we stay here again, and the answer is absolutely 100%! In fact we hope to book again for our next trip to Glacier National Park.
