I like it here, I stay a few times a year. Very comfortable, clean welcoming. Normally a nice bar and great food, it’s why I stay. It would be good to know the bar and restaurant are closed Monday & Tuesday & in complete darkness. Fore warned is fore armed!
The staff were super friendly & the food excellent. They have just started serving breakfast which served in a lovely refurbished room.
The pub had a great ambiance with a lot of locals calling in for a drink.
Our room was warm, a good size & pleasantly furnished.
We will definitely stay there again.
Walked 21 miles to stay here. Room lovely. Food lovely. Staff busy but doing their best. But no wifi, TV didn’t work & annoyingly no ground coffee for cafetière in room. And they knew all these things. No breakfast but my fault for not realising. For £150. The third time I (very politely) asked for help, the barman suggested that I contact Jim’ll Fix It. A free bottle of wine & 2 glasses would have been better customer service.
Petfect little rooms for a short stay. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean and with everything needed.
Fabulous base for exploring Bakewell and the Peak District.
On arrival we had a self check in and unfortunately the cleaner hadn't done our room. A text to the owner, a few beers and food up the road and our room was ready with complimentary drinks for the inconvenience. Mistake solved!
This is not a luxury stay, but, it is a very welcoming, comfortable & clean stay in a great location. Normally, &, my reason for returning, is that it serves very good food. Sadly a much reduced menu on this occasion, but, who doesn't like a pie anyway?
Lovely warm, clean and cosy accommodation in a beautiful village. We travelled early in the week in low season, so the pub understandably wasn't open on Monday and Tuesday, Also there is very poor sign for mobile phone and data and we were unable to get the wi fi password, which made contact for work a bit difficult. Otherwise great stay, would visit again

Had a lovely nights stay food was excellent lovely freindly people and service …. beautiful fire 🔥 shall definitely return 👋
Great friendly staff and really handy free parking in their car park right next to the accommodation. Only issue was the wifi wasn’t working, and it’s not a great area for phone signal.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Bedrooms excellent. Staff really doing their best but overstretched/understaffed.
With abit of thought /business planning it could be brilliant.
The room was basic, almost Spartan. It was small and furnished very simply with the bare minimum.
The TV was very small, probably 14 or 15 inch. It looked like the room was newly built, and everything was in good condition and spotless.
The tea and coffee making facilities were excellent, with even a cafetiere supplied. The excellent biscuits were you much appreciated too.
The best thing about the room was the shower room, which was very nicely done. The only problem we had with it was that we couldn't get any hot water from the sink. As it had an electric shower, I suspect there is only a cold feed to the sink.
Although there is wifi at the property, it isn't available in the rooms. Unfortunately the phone signal is very poor too.
Overall, a pleasant enough stay, although a little overpriced for such basic accommodation.
Perfect choice for the area ,rooms were excellent, service good.ideal for visiting Bakewell although nots so good if you require taxi back on a Saturday night.
