A different take on the city
I stayed here while attending a conference at the Shangri La. It is about a 15 minute walk, but a quick ride in a taxi or tuktuk. I enjoyed having some distance to retreat between and after meetings. The Royal Orchid feels like it is a bit out of the foray of the city that truly doesn't sleep. There is only one street coming in and one going out and all suites face the river. Every morning you see the colorful tugboats towing their cargo out and every evening, the river lights up with dinner cruises and energetic music. There's a convenient shuttle boat to ICONSIAM for shopping and reasonably priced food and local crafts through to iconic global brands like Hermes and Louis Vuitton. You can get a proper Thai massage just up the street and the hotel is conveniently located next to River City, a mall themed around antiques and art.

Solid Sheraton Product
The hotel is definitely a bit worn in terms of furniture in the rooms; however, the beds are comfortable and clean. Price is right and the location is my favorite of all the riverside hotels being close to Talat Noi/Charoen Khrushchev and Icon. The garden pool is very nice along with the shuttle boat. The room views are stellar as they all face the river

This our second stay at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok. From getting out of the taxi to reception to various dinning outlets the staff were wonderful. Concierge staff were always helpful and the ladies looking after us at breakfast were always attentive and cheerful. We had a most wonderful dinner at the Thatra Thong. The food was fantastic, the staff wonderful and the view on the balcony outstanding. In summary would always stay at this hotel when in Bangkok Well done Royal Orchid team

The hotel is in good location to explore the city attractions like the grand palace , Wat Pho , wat Arun and Icon. All can be done using the city boat service .Restaurant wise maybe a bit limited. Hotel is reformed, but well maintained. Staff is attentive, always with a smile. The sea food restaurant , Yatch Club was at a miss, seafood but missing lobster during a weak day dinner.The boat service was very convenient. Breakfast with many options. Noise from dinner cruise boats can be heard from time to time.

Personal Honest Review of the Hotel
The Icon Siam was conveniently close, and the free shuttle boat made it easy to get around. The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was excellent, but the dinner buffet was terrible. We entered a little after 8 PM, but they didn’t inform us that the kitchen would close around 9 PM, and the food was not replenished. We paid about $150 for two people, which was very disappointing.
