Love this hotel… it’s genuine service and a class above most hotels… the Thai restaurant is incredible… 10/10. If you some Thai traditions and great service and amazing food this is a top spot. The new renovation has one of Bangkoks institutions a freshen up … can’t speak highly enough

Quality, Design in an unconnected Location
While this was the best room of our 6 week journey, we did not rate it as the best hotel. There is not alot of 'fun' or 'smiles' here, except for door people and pool people. A little sombre. Mos tof the pool loungers were 'reserved' for most of day ( a pet peeve) and some not occupied the entire time we were at the pool. Italian restaurant just OK, and did not live up to the expectation the prices afforded. We needed to take taxi or ride share everywhere we wanted to go as there was not much walkable in this location. Lovely pool but in a weird spot requiring walking out and across the driveway.

In Bangkok’s heart, a secret found, Sukhothai stands on lush green ground. A breakfast feast, so fine, so grand, With care and thought in every hand. The staff so kind, their smiles so bright, Each moment filled with pure delight. When a driver sought to take our fare, A concierge showed her love and care. With justice served, 100 baht returned, In that sweet act, our trust was earned. The pool—a gem of emerald light, A margarita, mixed just right. The spa, a temple calm and pure, A beauty I’ll remember sure. Our stay, a dream we won’t forget, Sukhothai—our hearts are set.

Absolutely stunning room - like being on the old Orient Express. Hotel is beautiful and we particularly liked the giant lillies on the private road. The area is kind of in embassy land, so it's safe but quiet.

Luxury and purity and often associated with each other and every hotel in Bangkok is absolutely laden with gimmicks. Not so the Sukothai. Every detail is so perfectly considered every offering so an obtrusively excellence that the place exudes quality with without ostentation. Perhaps it’s as close as a five star hotel come to the Tranquility of a monastery. Not to mention it is huge spacious and gracious in ravishing grounds set in the middle of the banking district. The hotel chains may do what they do. This place was an extraordinary vision when it was built continues with great subtlety to upgrade and remains exceptional

If you want old school luxury this is the hotel for you. The staff are friendly, know what they are talking about and very helpful. The experience is calm, peaceful and relaxing. We went from staying here to the banyan tree hotel right next door and there is no comparison. The rooms are clean and spacious, the pool is amazing, big and plenty of cabana spaces. Overall I think this is one of the best hotels in Thailand and the rating it has on Expedia does not do it justice.
