The hotel is actually quite nice (decor level). Rooms are comfortable , clean and modern with nice interior design detail. Beds are fine.
Restaurant was not bad. I ate several meals there. Food was a reasonable standard and the kitchen made efforts with nice presentation. Some of the staff were great others gave me the impression that they didn't care.
What I didn't like was the following:
* Service and attitude from staff, particularly in reception and in concierge.
*Taxi touts hanging outside the front of the hotel only permitting you to take taxis that don't have or will not operate meters. it's a really bad feeling to have a hotel permit these guys to stand out there to take advantage of guests. It happened to me on 4 occasions and even when I asked the hotel concierge / door team, no one appeared that bothered to help. It's a funny thing how a relatively small issue (as in this example) can turn you off staying again.
I was not crazy about the surrounding areas. As is typical of Bangkok, traffic is a never ending headache. Lots of massage and little restaurants in the area near the hotel but nothing (at least in my opinion) worth going back to.
