We arrived Monday evening and left Friday morning. Each morning we were up early, had breakfast, packed a lunch and was out exploring Acadia. We would come back late afternoon, shower/clean up and then head into Bar Harbor for shops and dinner. The location of the property was great for this. It was a short drive to Acadia entrance and we walked into town each evening (about 12 minutes - which given the traffic and parking in town, I believe walking was faster!)
The host advised us to grab groceries/provisions prior to coming onto the island. I'm glad we did. The kitchen was small, but stocked well (cooking items, plates, utensils, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, and toaster oven). We appreciated the washer/dryer in unit and ironing board. Bathroom had hair dryer, towels, shampoo and soap - hotel size.
There was window AC unit that worked well (we were there when a couple days reached the low 90's). There were also fans in the unit which we did not have to use. I read some of the prior reviews when booking about a musty smell. There is a dehumidifier running and sometimes we noticed it when entering and sometimes not. I think it originates from the drain the dehumidifier and washing machine use.
The unit was clean, in a quiet neighborhood, with good access to Acadia and town. It sits back behind another house. We stayed in the lower unit and there was another above us. Noise was not an issue. We would stay again.
