Lovely hotel,not accommodating when flight delays.
The hotel was very nice and most of the staff were quite wonderful. I greatly enjoyed the gym, up to date equipment. However due to problems with my flights I didn't arrive until the next day and you charged me anyway as I was a few hours after the deadline but I was traveling. I thought that wasn't very understanding or accommodating. And it was particularly irritating that Stefan tried to blame it on hotels.com even though they called to advocate for me.

No additional information given whilst checking in, but later overheard another member of reception staff provide useful information to other people checking in. Staff level of service appeared very mixed, as I had cause to ask for assistance at reception and the person I spoke with was extremely helpful on that occasion. Room was small and oppressive. Absolutely no view, unless you like staring across at a block of concrete flats, who can actually see into your window. Fine for sleeping in and that's about all I can say about the room. Breakfast was excellent. Overall the hotel is really out the way of the main tourist areas in Basel. Fine if you are looking for a working hotel, as it was situated in a more industrial part of the city. Sadly, not one I would visit again.
