No additional information given whilst checking in, but later overheard another member of reception staff provide useful information to other people checking in. Staff level of service appeared very mixed, as I had cause to ask for assistance at reception and the person I spoke with was extremely helpful on that occasion. Room was small and oppressive. Absolutely no view, unless you like staring across at a block of concrete flats, who can actually see into your window. Fine for sleeping in and that's about all I can say about the room. Breakfast was excellent. Overall the hotel is really out the way of the main tourist areas in Basel. Fine if you are looking for a working hotel, as it was situated in a more industrial part of the city. Sadly, not one I would visit again.

The hotel says parking but it is a public parking 2 blocks away. The room was noisy due to trams running 24 hours. No soundproofing at all can not take a shower without making the entire bathroom wet as the shower tub setup leads to water everywhere

Friendly, helpful staff. About a 10 minute walk to the river and heart of the old town. Lots of restaurants close by as is the public transport if you so desire. The hotel will also give you a free public transport pass to use. We didn’t use the public transport choosing to walk instead. Felt very safe in Basel.
