Nice home
Overall the home is very nice , it could be a bit cleaner . It’s also for sale perhaps that’s why they don’t maintain it . The home is very big and close to everything . I unfortunately did not see it has no AC so maybe in the summer months this place isn’t that suitable . My check in process was not good , I kept calling them a couple of hours before my check in to ask about entering the property early and they said I was missing paperwork to sign , they keep saying they have been trying to send it to me , then out they had the wrong phone nombre . Not sure if it was the lot me that made the mistake on the phone number but nonetheless they could have also emailed .. However it was a nice stay , the home is nice , big the hot tub was nice too , .

Home is lovely but sparsely equipped
The home is in Castle Glen Estates which is centrally located and a very nice neighborhood. The home is very nice and also for sale so it’s possible this is why the amenities are less than what you would normally find in a luxury VRBO property. We have stayed here before and I mistakenly took for granted that it would be the same. I therefore didn’t read the disclaimer in the email when I booked. My fault really as all of this was disclosed but for the benefit of others to see on the booking page - There is no shower soap in the master bathroom. No separate hair conditioner. There are no blow dryers in the home. There are no tissues anywhere. There are ceiling fans but no ac so no way to bring in cool air. It was an unseasonably hot 99 degrees during the day so brutal upstairs. No humidifiers. I only mention it as it was different last time so would have been better prepared. A $150 trip to CVS fixed all of this but just didn’t expect it. Home itself is very nice although I think having only 2 bathrooms would be tough if you have a large group. Also neighbor’s trees with summer now block the lovely lake view this home has in the winter. Last comment - the home needs a good sweep under tables and bars chairs. Quite a bit of dirt and dog hair. All that said we had a nice time.

Lovely stay
Enjoyed the property very much. The house is very nice and we will consider staying here again. Beds are comfortable. Great room is very cozy with a fire going. I found most everything to be in working order and anything that wasn't was shared with the property manager which is Destinations Big Bear. Advice for a stay - if you want to play board games, be sure to bring your own. There is a pool table and foozball upstairs. You will need to stream on the TV which was no problem for us but there isn’t local cable or DVD. Check in procedures are a little confusing. Texts stipulate that check in at office is mandatory but then was told at office that if given a code, I didn’t need to wait until 4 or check in. (That’s not what automated texts say) The guy was oddly a little surly and patronizing for checking in at the office like I was bothering him. What?? Other than that everything was just fine. Communications on check out with Tristan were great. Check out times posted in residence say 1000 but texts say 1100. Got a late check out and all was good. Text response with question was timely. Thanks for a great stay.

Family winter getaway
We had an absolutely great time. Our whole family was there including the kids, grandkids and our great grandson. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for our size group. A open concept between the two levels so sitting downstairs we were able to see the kids upstairs playing pool. As stated in the description of what is provided I do recommend bringing all spices, condiments and any special cooking pans you may need. Overall we had a great time and I highly recommend this rental

Nice Home but Lacking Basic Essentials
The property itself is great (location, layout, rooms, etc.); however there is a lack of basic essentials that just don't make sense for a higher priced rental like this one. For example, there were no extra towels so we had to go buy some, there was no laundry detergent to wash the few towels that we had, the toilet paper was like paper (at least have decent TP), there was no salt/pepper/basic kitchen utensils/pots/pans that were useable, the snow shovel was broken so impossible to clear the driveway of snow, some of the sheets and blankets did not seem like they had been washed, two of the stoves didn't work, the fireplace key for the gas was missing, there was no vacuum or sweeping/cleaning supplies for us to use, hot water ran out fast for a house this big, bath tub plug did not work in main bathroom, there are no boardgames or anything for kids to play - like nothing, zero, nada.

Lovely Cabin
Lovely cabin, great location. Not as well stocked for cleaning up (no useable broom or vac), kitchen supplies were lacking other than dishes and glassware. Not in line with other better properties we have stayed at. "The Rules" constant communication through email and text was rather offending.
