You get what you pay for
For the price this place is alright if you just need somewhere half decent. Rooms are clean but everything is very worn around the edges and the lift often breaks down. The shower was all or nothing and ran way too much water, and towels were changed every day, so not very eco friendly or economical.

On Friday nights there is a regular thing in the bar which has very loud music and goes on til midnight. Our room was right above it and as a family with two children this was all too much. When we asked in reception about the noise there was no offer to get it turned down. We were given a different room for our second night and a complimentary breakfast when we checked out. They did well to make up for it, but a better first night sleep would have been preferable. If you book a family room and its above the bar, ask to change it before you settle in for you can. Beautiful building though, great breakfast and generous room size if not a little dated. Work clearly underway to maintain it so generally all ok.

Room was dirty. Lipstick on sheets. Peeling paint. Tired decor. Some lights not working. On the plus side, it was a very good size room (could be nice) and convenient for my one night stay

Ok for a brief stay but in need of a refurb!
The communal areas ok and the staff are helpful. The room however is in need of an overhaul with paint flaking from the skirting board and obvious mould growth in the bathroom

This hotel has a regular LOUD Friday night disco until MIDNIGHT! I was 3 floors up and with windows closed, felt the rumble of the boom boom boom, heard the music and the DJ talking, and then at midnight loud groups leaving and waiting for taxis for the next 15 minutes. Even a drunk bloke singing loudly to himself. Outrageous! Poor night's sleep, and I will ask for a refund via hotels.com. I have several videos for evidence. Oh. And the lift was out of order to top it all off.
