Anniversary Trip 2024

Amazing location with tons of space!

We loved staying at Cherry Lake Lodge. The home was peefrct — clean and well-stocked with so much to do without going back down the hill. It felt tucked away but was still very close to town. The host was super communicative and responsive. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Amazing stay! A hidden gem tucked away in the mountains!

We absolutely LOVED our stay at this Cherry Lake Lodge and we will 100% be coming back a few more times in the near future. It had everything we could have ever wanted and we never wanted to leave. The beds were comfortable and we had enough space to spread out and relax with our group of 8. We absolutely loved the paddle boards, kayaks, floats, fishing poles and canoes provided. We had so much fun in the lake most of the day and we would relax at the dock and fish with the kids at night. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. We did have go out and get dish soap since there wasn't any but everything else was well stocked from trash bags to toilet paper and paper towels. We thought we would go out and explore BlueRidge but we were so comfy at this cabin that we never left. There is the Benton Mackay Trail steps away from the cabin to explore which we loved. We also loved both the large back porch and the indoor hot tub area connected to it. The kids also really enjoyed the air hockey and foosball table downstairs. We cannot wait to come back here and get away. It is like a slice of heaven a quick drive away from home! The cabin is easy to get to with a standard car or SUV and we were able to get in with the keypad entry. The neighbors around were very friendly and the cabin hosts were very proactive and quick to respond to questions. We cannot wait to come back and stay again in the future.

Relaxing time with the family

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very spacious and clean. So much to do, you don't really need to leave. We had an amazing time fishing, paddle boarding, swimming, playing games, bonfires, and the hot tub was perfect after a morning hike on Fall Branch Falls. It was a perfect little getaway!

Wonderful Vacation!

We visited Blue Ridge with our parents and kiddos and loved staying at Cherry Lake Lodge. The adults especially enjoyed spending time on the deck which overlooks the lake and all enjoyed lake activities. This home has it all; canoe, paddle boards, a kayak, fishing gear, tons of board games, and air hockey and foosball. We also enjoyed smores by the firepit (supplied by host). Everything is labeled in home making it easy to find what you need. Really loved that the coffee pot had a regular pot and k-cup option. Also, the home is just minutes from town. Sarah was especially kind and super responsive and welcoming. Her and Rebecca (property manager) went way above and beyond to make sure we had a great trip. We are so appreciative and highly recommend this property!

Relaxing!

The property is located on a quiet lake, the hot tub has a great view of the lake and is so relaxing. The kitchen had everything you needed and there was plenty of space for everyone. The fishing was great. Plenty of wildlife to see. Close to stores if you forgot anything. The property owner was an absolute joy and so helpful. We can't wait to go back!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had an great time despite some stormy weather. It is definitely a testament to the property that our kids never got bored! The house is beautiful and very well stocked. I really appreciated that i didnt have to run the dishwasher after every meal since there were plenty of dishes. The outdoor lake toys were great - easy to locate and navigate for our family that doesnt know much about kayaking, etc. Also fantastic communication before check in so no issues on arrival. Overall, a really excellent experience. My only constructive feedback is that is gets REALLY cold on the bottom level. The space heater made it tolerable for our kids to sleep downstairs, but I would have packed warmer pajamas had I known. Also, the grill was very dirty - obviously hadnt been cleaned after usage. We decided not to use it because it would have taken a long time to clean. There were also a couple pans that were unusable in my opinion - bottom coating peeling off in large chunks. There was enough other cookware to work around, but probably need to be replaced.

Lovely stay with a few considerations.

The location was wonderful, right on a small lake with a great doc and chairs for lounging. Paddle boat and kayaks provided and in good condition, fishing poles provided. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking and clean with the exception of the coffee pot. Cabinets were labeled with items for ease of finding. Outdoor areas were not clean from a build up of pollen, leaves, etc., had to clean off all tables, furniture, and ping pong table to use. The dinner table available to seat more than 4 people was in a room where the hot tub and fire place was located but we could not use that room, including the hot tub, because the room smelled strongly of mold/mildew, chlorine, and smoke. We chose this listing because of the hot tub and the view so we were disappointed we couldn't' use it. Plenty of towels provided but we had to figure out where they were (upper bedroom closet and a large load left unfolded in the dryer.) Bring your own extra toilet paper and paper towels as only 1 roll of TP was provided in each bathroom and 1.5 rolls of paper towels. Little toiletries provided in each bathroom. Steps in the house are very steep with long reaches to be able to hold on to railing when going down steps, do not recommend for elderly people or people who may be unstable in walking.

Great Cabin for the Family

We've been coming to to Blue Ridge for over 15 years and this has been my favorite cabin by far. They have thought of everything! Any kitchen utensil you can think of, gas fireplaces, hot tub, plenty of toiletry items and trash bags, 3 master bedrooms plus extra beds everywhere, kayaks and fishing poles, they had a beautiful Christmas tree and decorations up when we got there, and even had everything you need for s'mores as a welcome gift. We loved this place. It was immaculate, no cob webs or dust anywhere. We'll definitely be back!!

Amazing cabin!

It’s a wonderful cabin on the lake! Gorgeous design, fully equipped, very clean, cozy, comfortable and fun! Sunroom with huge fireplace and jacuzzi is very cool! We had a blast and we will come back!

We love the place, cabin has all you need to fill at home from rooms bathroom living room balcony out doors also kitchen has all Cooking supplies to make a great hot meal with family. The jacuzzi was great to relax after a long day with great outdoor Views to the lake 100% Recommended

Special Property

We appreciated the Christmas decorations. We loved the side room with the fireplace, jacuzzi, pit sofa, and awesome view. The entire cabin was very clean which is very important to us. The cabin is located on a small lake which is approximately 5-10 acres. There were approximately 15-20 cabins around the lake which provided a unique community.

Great family vacation

Had a great time staying at the cabin. Because of COVID, it ended up being just us, rather than the multi-family trip originally planned. To keep the 3-year old safe, we just moved the end table in front of the stairs going up and locked/blocked the stairs to the basement. Easy enough to keep a well behaved toddler safe. We really enjoyed spending time down on the dock, but didn’t use any of the water sports equipment. It was just a bit too cold to get out in the water and the previous tenants did a poor job of putting away and covering items properly (paddle boat and canoe were uncovered and full of water and leaves). The water views were just gorgeous with the leaves starting to change. The fire pit was perfect for one dry, chilly morning. The rest of the time it was too damp to light. The road in front of the cabin overlaps with the Benton MacKaye trail, so you can step outside in either direction and follow the white diamond blazes to enjoy a lovely little hike. Fall Branch Falls is about 30 minutes away, and there are a few gorgeous mountain overlooks and more trails within a 45min radius. A really great spot for getting away from it all. I only wish we would have booked a second week.
