The hotel boasts the marina right outside, which was a highlight of my stay. However, the room itself was fairly standard, and there were some cleanliness and maintenance issues that detracted from the overall experience.
Upon checking in, I noticed that the bedding had not been properly washed, as there were noticeable, unclean stains. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff, I was informed that although a clean comforter was unavailable, they could wash the stained one. In the meantime, they provided a clean blanket to use underneath. Despite their efforts, the idea of sleeping in that bed was still unsettling.
Additionally, the room was quite noisy at night due to the radiator-style wall heaters and significant squeaking from the upper floors—it sounded almost as if a tennis ball was being bounced overhead. The toilet seat was unstable and in need of repair, and the escutcheon plate in the bathtub where the faucet handle is mounted was also very loose.
These maintenance and noise issues, combined with the initial problem with the bedding, made for a less than comfortable stay.
Considering the overall quality and the problems I encountered, the price of just over $94 with taxes felt excessive. This was disappointing given the expectations set by the hotel's prime location and potential.
