Not convenient if you have a vehicle
I'm assuming the rates increased because of season and nearby events, but we did not know that there was no on-site parking or valet option. My husband is handicapped. We had to park a block away and walk from a neighborhood garage without in/out privileges. We had to spend hundreds on Uber. We probably would have stayed somewhere else if we had known.

No valet/onsite parking!
We found out upon check-in that there was no valet parking “Yeah the site says valet, but it’s wrong” - you have to pay $40 to park a few blocks away in a gov lot. It was very difficult for us as first timers in Boston to navigate - GPS brought us to a closed entrance. It was dark, rush hour, construction - not fun. We finally had to ask someone standing outside where the entrance was. Then the following morning, my husband unfortunately neglected to bring the ticket to the front desk before getting the car. He was charged $80 by the garage and the front desk couldn’t do anything about it (we realize that was his mistake, as they did tell us when we checked in - please learn from our 12 hour $80 parking mistake!). Parking fiasco aside, the hotel was clean, the bed was decent - the location is alright. Certainly not worth paying roughly $700 for 12 hours on a random Weds though! I actually was really looking forward to this stay too, because I loved the pics of the building and it seemed like a cool place. I would have never booked the room though, had I known there wasn’t actually valet or onsite parking.

Front desk morning check in was polite and rude at the same time. No one to help with luggage and parking is a walk to government center parking. This is discounted but don't exceed your 24 hours or you will pay high rate for next 24 hours. Check out was much better and they were very nice and watched our luggage.

The hotel itself is wonderful. It’s clean, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are nice. The parking is in a garage that’s a 5 minute walk down the road that you have to drag your luggage to and from. We paid over $100 for parking for 2 nights. Horrible situation in my opinion, it should be included or at least reduced to a reasonable rate. We also almost didn’t get a spot in the garage because it’s not just for the hotel, anyone can use it, so you risk not even getting a spot in it.

Good looking hotel from the outside and photos. Room a bit sad with cracked window (not that it was a draught or dangerous). Waitress at breakfast seriously overworked one day but soldiered on as best she could.

Booked this hotel because I was going to a concert at TD Garden and it was a great location, less than a 5 minute walk! Very clean room, comfortable bed, good soaps in the bathroom

I really enjoyed my stay here. Everyone was very nice and the location was really convenient. Only complaint was the keurig was very loud and the water leaked out of it. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Nice reception, not followed through during stay.
Interesting lovely old building. Rose gave us a warm welcome. The room was quirky and very dark. No tea facilities but a coffee maker that was in a very dark corner. Breakfast was a disaster- after a 30 minute wait still no order so we grabbed a sandwich from a 7/11. And $20 was prepaid for breakfast. Convenient location with easy 10 min walk to centre of Freedom Trail sites.

Waited an hour to check in . Room was not ready on time. Tried 2 times at the restaurant on site but both times sat down and server did not come over for a long time . Asked the desk if they had umbrellas to borrow . They were all broken .

Great boutique hotel in the middle of everything! From the North End, Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, or heading to TD Garden for a game or show. Rooms are quaint and cozy. Atmosphere is warm and inviting. We did not have time to eat at the onsite restaurant Bulfinch but the menu looks really good.
