About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Cozy, Modern Camp nestled near Audra State park.

This space has been meticulously created with relaxation in mind. Every detail carefully curated and provided so you can disconnect and reconnect with whatever is important to you. The cabin is ideal for a quick get away with a loved one, a family vacation, or a small gathering. It is the perfect place to make a base camp so you can explore all the outdoor wonders that West Virginia has to offer. We are located within 2 miles of Audra State Park and steps away from Middle Fork River.
The space
Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra steps to clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces between reservations. As an extra cleaning step, we use Microban on all hard surfaces and have it available to our guests on the counter when you arrive.

The cabin has everything you will need to kick back and relax. The layout of the property was designed for ultimate comfort and the rooms are modern, open, and airy. We pay homage to the local communities throughout the Appalachian Mountain region by featuring decor and products in our home.

Our favorite feature of the cabin is the rear deck that wraps around the back and side. It is private and intimate and the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or to grill out and pay corn hole in the evening. A portion of the deck is covered with a swing and 4 adult adirondack chairs for ultimate relaxation. The open part of the deck has a picnic table, swing hammock, and opens up the night sky for star gazing.

A few steps away from the deck is the firepit that is set up with adirondack chairs and string lights to create the perfect setting for a campfire.

We have a very small yard on the side of the cabin, it is not suitable for "playing" however, there is a community park that is a 2 minute walk from the cabin. The community park has new swings, a slide, and a grass space for children to play. Right across the street from the park is where you have direct access to Middle Fork River. This is where the cover photo was taken. There are stairs that will take you down to the river bank to swim, float, kayak, or fish. The river feeds directly into Audra State Park and is a perfect "pick up" spot if you choose to tube down the river.

The kitchen is well equipped and we provide you with all of the utensils, cookware (pots, pans, cast iron skillet, bakeware, bowls, cutting boards, strainer), and small appliances (Ninja coffee maker, hot tea kettle, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, hand mixer, crockpot, instapot) that you will need. The kitchen table expands to comfortably seat 7.

The cabin has three bedrooms: one on the lower level with a queen bed, the other two bedrooms are upstairs with three full beds and four twin beds that are loft style (guardrails are available if needed).

There is a TV in the main part of the living room that has a couch, love seat, and an arm chair with a footstool. We have a DVD player with a variety of DVD's available to use during your stay. We also provide an Apple TV connector and Amazon Firestick. If watching TV isn't your thing there are a ton of board games, cards, puzzles, and books at the ready!
Guest access
We are located in a private gated campground community. Each property is owner-owned and no overnight camping is permitted. It is important to note that the access road to the cabin is a private gravel road and not maintained by the state. As a community we maintain this road but in transparency there are a few rough patches and recommend you travel at the posted speed limit of 10mph. We have a U shaped driveway in front of our home (enough room to fit 3 cars) and space to fit 1-2 cars on the side of home. If you have a vehicle with a small trailer it should fit in the spot on the side of the home.
Other things to note
We have well water at the cabin with a filtration system. The water is suitable for drinking, cooking, and showering/handwashing. You are welcome to bring bottled water if you don't like the taste of well water.

We do not have central air or heat in our cabin. We do have three AC window units in the upstairs and lower level bedrooms and a portable AC unit in the window downstairs to keep the cabin comfortable. There is a ventless propane fireplace in the kitchen that keeps the cabin cozy in the colder months. In addition, there is an electric fireplace in the living room that generates heat and we have portable heaters in the bedrooms if needed.

This also goes without saying but you are in West Virginia and in the woods so don't be surprised if you see a bug or spider on the deck or occasionally in the house. We do have a pest management company come out and spray once a month to keep them at bay but being in a highly wooded area they do like to wander.
During your stay at this cabin, you'll be close to Audra State Park. A kitchen and a fireplace are available in the cabin.

Audra State Park Area
We enjoyed our stay at the house. The setting was beautiful and the hosts were quick to respond to issues. The house and the deck area could have been a little cleaner.

Very nice cabin. Nice property. If you're looking for super quiet, this is not your place. Tons of driving traffic, ATVs, and a neighbor that must've thought he was staying there as well. Overall, still a good experience.

Relaxing stay near Audra State Park
We stayed here as a base to swim at Audra, and it was perfect for that. The house satellite was good enough for basic connection and fit our needs. Enough hot water for 5 people's basic showers one after another. Comfortable beds and good bedding. Water pressure was fine. Responsive host. Water tasted good. Pictures are representative, but a few minor changes like a bed's placement. We did bump our heads on the stairs (5'5" and 5'8") but they have placed a pool noodle just right so that it doesn't hurt! So thank you! We managed the roads in a minivan just fine, following the provided info. Very cute upstairs for kids with fun climbing and books. The neighborhood has houses fairly close together, but this one feels private with all the woods in the back and side. Normal neighborhood traffic and ambient neighbor sounds, but it was still very reasonable and everyone seemed to respect each other to quiet things down by bedtime. The listing says, "We do have three AC window units in the upstairs and lower level bedrooms and a portable AC unit in the window downstairs to keep the cabin comfortable." But we only could find one AC unit upstairs and a dehumidifier in the downstairs bathroom. The power went off in the middle of our last night with storms that moved through (knocked out electricity and water), but the power was restored 7:10 AM. Not an issue for us. We spent most of our time on the back porch relaxing by the woods. We enjoyed our stay and made memories. Thank you!

Nice Little Place
It's a nice place, kitchen has everything you need, plenty of room for 4 adults + some kids. Good luck finding a better spot with a WV back country woods off a beautiful deck. Minor cons: WIFI is incredibly slow an will go out completely with clouds. Going up stairs can be challenging if you are over 5 foot. Check-in process needs an updated lock box.

Cute little cabin
The cabin is cute and nicely equipped with a beautiful deck to relax on and it was great to be able to take our pup with us . The downstairs bed is very comfy . We did have issues with the cleanliness of the bathroom and the bedding that we had to remedy ourselves. We did reach out to the host with no response until after our stay was over two days later . There was an apology but we were not reimbursed for any of our stay or cleaning fee. Be prepared for a long slow twisty ride from the main road to the cabin. The campground itself is a bit run down with old campers and “hand crafted“ homes. But the residents were polite and fairly quiet. Host gives great directions to help get to the campground and had a lot of local recommendations to explore the area. Don’t miss checking out Blackwater and Elakala Falls.

Cute place. Wish we would have had more time to enjoy it
We were at the Strawberry Festival. We own JoJo's Taco and was being taped for a show with the Food Network. So we were very busy. But it had everything we needed and more.

Home is a few minutes down a gravel road in a camp ground. There is little to no traffic so you can enjoy the sounds of nature. Covered back porch to sit on if raining - home was clean and pictures were accurate with the photos shown for the listing. Less than 5 min walk to nearby river

Great Spot for a Getaway
Every year a few of us old friends pick a spot and get together and this was one of the best. There was only one hiccup the entire stay and it was the TV. We were never able to operate it until the last day; the right remote (there were several) had fallen between the couch cushions! It happens all the time and none of us thought to look there. It’s a beautiful spot in a beautiful area. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Fathers Day Gift Trip
The drive up was beautiful WV mountains. Our family really enjoyed the property, especially the wrap around decking. The home is cozy with necessities as listed. A quick walk and we were sitting on rocks in the river, fishing. The house and setting is as described, only wish we had another day to relax and enjoy it!

Had a great time. Plan on no cell reception and very limited internet -which was a great plus. Neighbors were great helping with any issues and communication when we were out of range. The girls loved the loft areas, books and so many games. Enjoy the family time here, you won’t be disappointed.

Spring break 2023
Quiet little place in the river, felt like home away from home. The power did go out a few times during our stay due to high winds and a thunderstorm that rolled thru but it was nice to bust out board games by candle light and enjoy each other's company.
