Magic... Mirage Medic Hotel!! 24-28 Oct 2016

Pros: Booked a standard room, plenty of space in bathroom & bedroom. Very clean, nicely furnished & comfy bed. Don't see the need to upgrade & pay more, plenty good enough. They run a Chinese treatment centre, so there is a strong herbal influence in the hotel. Herbal shampoo in the bathroom & many unusual options to opt for at the excellent all inclusive breakfast, which we enjoyed. The hotel has been recently refurbished & they are trying for a 5 star rating...say no more. All the staff were fabulous, nothing was a problem for them & they spoke very good English. You can get tickets for the hop on-hop off tour buses & spas at reception with no commission. Saves a lot of messing about, you pay in Forints. We used the Big Bus Tour bus. You have a 2 day ticket & costs £22. A great way to tour the city, get to all the sights of Budapest, then at your leisure hop back on to Hero's Square, 150yds from The Mirage Medic. A river cruise on the Danube (90 mins) & other tours are free with this ticket...Great Value! Buses are every 15 to 30 mins & start & finish at Hero's Square, so you always get a good seat. Szechenyi Spa ticket from reception is £15, spent 3 hrs there, Loved IT. Pack flip flops & a small towel, no need for bathing cap. We found plenty of excellent local restaurants fairly close to the hotel, with the obligatory Italian. Highly recommend the Mirage Medic. Easily a 4 star hotel at a great price with a few nice surprises.
Cons: Find it really hard to pick fault with the Mirage Medic hotel. The only thing I could fault is that there was no toast machine at breakfast, however the bread rolls were freshly baked & varied, not a real problem for us, maybe that's how its done in Hungary? This is being very picky!
Location: Great location. Hero's Square is opposite. City Park with Vajdahunad Castle, Szechenyi Spa (a must), are all within a 10 minutes walk. Very pleasant.

Alles in allem eine gute Unterkunft mit guter ÖV anbindung, sehr sauber, nettes personal. Das WLan war nur sehr langsam.

Déjeuner lamentable pour un quatre étoiles... Décoration et lampe de chevet plafond pas bien fixé Ne vaut pas plus que trois étoiles , propriétaires asiatique donc extérieur joli mais l’intérieur laisse à désirer

Hotellin ravintola/baari ei ole mitenkään erikoinen. Tavallista perus ruokaa. Aamiainen on riittävä. Mitä nyt kahvi loppui yhtenä aamuna. Mut respan poika keitti sitten kahvit. Hotellista on helppo liikkua joka suuntaan.

Hotel ist in guter Lage, mit der U-Bahn in 10 Minuten im Zentrum. Würde meinen Aufenthalt wieder hiermit planen.
