Cottage Barn, Jacobstow

Cottage Barn is a traditional stone barn conversion located between two farms in Jacobstow, situated a short drive away from the stunning beaches of Crackington Haven, Widemouth Bay and Bude. This deceptively spacious detached barn is set back from a country lane in the middle of a farming hamlet, surrounded by fields.

Ideally situated to enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer. Cottage barn offers cosy and comfortable accommodation and retains much charm and character with exposed beams and stonework.

Cozy
The property itself was very nice - quite cozy with a well-appointed kitchen. We spent a ot of time in the sunroom enjoying either our morning coffee or our afternoon glass of wine! It could have used a few more lamps with working lightbulbs. We never did hear back from our host when we tried contacting her to obtain more bulbs so communication could be improved. Also don't plan a having a BBQ - the bottom had completely fallen out! Lastly, directions to locate the property could be improved. But overall, our stay was very pleasant.

Spacious property and had everything we needed. The directions inviolved use of an app which we hadnt used before but led us straight to the door. No interaction with propery manager apart from mail which was fine since everything we needed was provided. Good place to explore Cornwall, visited St ives, port isaac Penzance and Padstow.

Rural getaway
Rural house a short distance off the main road serving the north coast of Cornwall (rugged and picturesque with some amazing beaches and port towns in short reach). Local pub did an amazing roast on Sunday and very friendly. Couldn’t fault the house, had everything we needed, very clean with various spaces (dinner table, lots of sofa space, conservatory and tables / chairs outside with a bbq). Loved the attic headroom. It’s a rural house and location, so if you don’t like being “away from it all” then this house is not for you. But we loved it and had an amazing time.

Private and Tranquil!
Loved how quiet, isolated and private from other houses this cottage was and yet just minutes from A39 and access to whole of North Cornwall coast within 40 minutes. Great having cows, goats, geese and open country side to look out on. Extremely spacious with (an unexpected) mezzanine large master bed room. We had no hot water on the first day but called the cottage management and it was sorted within a few hours! The kitchen needed more crockery...bowls and mugs etc (especially with a dish washer) and several blinds and curtains needed some attention but with a little attention to details the cottage could be perfect, if a little pricy. We enjoyed our stay immensely and covered the whole of the north Cornwall coast. Trebarwith Strand and Boscastle were firm favourites.

Excellent Staycation
Property was perfect size and layout for our family of 5. It was easy for us to get to various beaches and tourist attractions, although you do need a car. Property was clean, spacious and had the necessary facilities to be able to cook and prepare picnics.

Great location for seeing lots of places of interest and being on a working farm was really interesting. We really loved it. Only quibble (and it is minor), it could do with a few more pans and some additional crockery.

Heaven it's self
Clean, comfortable quirky holiday Cottage. We loved staying at the Cottage Barn, it gave us everything we were looking for, peace and quite. It was beautiful eating breakfast outside with all the farm animals surrounding us. Joanne our hostess was amazing, ready to answer our questions very promptly. Thank you for a lovely stay, we would like to come back .

Lovely little cottage
We had a great stay, weather brilliant! Granddaughter loved the animals right next to the garden, peaceful even though there was a farm next door! The cottage was not particularly child friendly, as there are stonesteps inside the cottage into dining area and into lounge area, so would not recommend under 2s We had 3 small dogs with us and there was no problems with the cows! Cottage was quite well equipped with most things provided !
