nice hotel, friendly staff, kid friendly

Nice hotel, friendly and accommodating. E.g. Beach towels, umbrellas (monsoon season!) Needs a bit of tlc but as staff advised the hotel had been recently bought and being flattened and new luxury hotel built, I doubt they'll do much this season. That said, it's clean, pool is warm and kid friendly, location excellent- 10 min to reef terminal, 5 mins from cairns night market. Tour staff (Jenny and ?) are excellent, give good advice, listen and don't try to push on expensive trips where not necessary.

short stopp-over

middle-aged hotel with banging doors and dirty, not usable waterkettles. friendly staff at reception desk. I expect a bottle of drinking water in the room when booking a **** hotel. advertised as beeing on esplanade you'll find the entrance on abbot street.

Couple trip in Australia

The hotel needs to be renewed really badly. The odor is the room is bad. I couldn't drink tap water here, although I always drink tap water everywhere. We didn't like breakfast as well, so we ate it only once. Poor choice. No cold meats or cheese, bananas looked bad. Though, the staff does a really great job, was very helpful and nice. The hotel has a nice view and is in a good location.
