Lovely old house starting to show its age
Lovely old house in the perfect spot, big enough for two or three families. All the bedrooms have views, and getting to the beach is very easy. Unfortunately the house is getting older, and starting to show its age. Most disappointing was that the house had not been cleaned before our arrival, and our concerns were not addressed.

Fantastic!
By far one of our best trips to Cannon Beach! The house is perfect for a big group in terms of size and location. One of the showers had really low water pressure, but other than that, this is not a vacation home to pass up!

Cannot beat the view!!!!
This house was not only gorgeous, but I loved the layout. You cannot beat the view. Haystack is right there. The stairs to the beach were a little brutal for me. But we drove into town and enjoyed our shopping and beach time. I would have given this place 5 stars all the way around except there was a problem with sugar ants which meant finding good places to keep food/drinks away. I could see the traps, so I know they were aware. This was the only downfall of this house. We'd gladly go back. Our family of 8 adults and 1 baby fit perfect. If you have little kids. There is a cute playroom for kids and an amazing bedroom with bunk beds. Trip was too quick. Will go back when we can stay longer!! (we had to rate communication with property manager, but we never did reach out. So, ignore that rating)

Even better than our first stay
This was our second stay at this property and it was even better this second time around. We've booked Thanksgiving week both times and put on a full Thanksgiving meal in the nice kitchen. Of course, one highlight is the stunning views of Haystack Rock from many rooms, including the main living room and kitchen area and a number of the bedrooms. We had 4 adults, 1 teenager and 2 younger kids (9 and 6 years old). Plenty of common areas to hang out together and plenty of space for alone time. We particularly appreciated the full size laundry facilities in the garage, and the mesh wifi system was a great discovery - we had full wifi coverage at every possible place in the house, thank you for adding that! When we arrived we noticed the kitchen sink wasn't draining properly and the disposal wasn't working - an easy call to the maintenance line had someone out within two hours. Not only was it fixed quickly but he even had brought out an entirely new disposal with him in case that was required (which it wasn't). Looking forward to our third visit sometime soon!

Haystack House
Lots of stairs but there is a dumbwaiter from the garage to the main floor. The house has 6 levels. It has an amazing view! Bring your own HDMI cord to plug your laptop into the TV in the main living room. The carpets are old but the house was clean and has a great floor plan for larger groups. Enjoy!

Really cool funky house with multiple levels. You’re either walking up or down. Could not beat the view of haystack. Typical Oregon coast. Foggy , wet and beautiful.

Perfect location and wonderful house for families
This house is just steps away from the stairs right down to the beach and right in front of Haystack Rock. The views each morning and evening from the front windows are simply stunning. The house is complete with cookware, linens, and towels for hot tub. The garbage outside was very full so it was hard to put our garbage away during the stay. The air vents that were visible were loaded with visible dust. The house is pretty perfectly located and large, so it's probably rented pretty frequently and it's hard to schedule a deep cleaning. We loved it and would rent it again. Thank you

Interesting house design takes advantage of ocean views from every room. You need to be able to use stairs comfortably and not be concerned about a steep driveway. Short walk to the beach. Lovely in sunny and stormy weather.

Couldn't imagine better views, from anywhere in the house. Easy access to beach, very comfortable.
Nice all around, plenty of space, very well designed to leverage views of haystack rock and the needles. Highly recommended.

Deferred maintenance issues with a fantastic view
On the plus side, the views are incredible. The house is roomy with lots of stairs and levels, places for everyone to spread out and get comfortable. On the minus side, it is located on the main drag, Hemlock, so parking is limited and parking large SUVs are a problem. You can't get them in the garage and only one big SUV or pickup can park in the steep driveway, so you have to park on Hemlock. If you like to cook, bring your own pots and pans because the supply is limited, and it is cheap stuff. The biggest problem we had was the heat. It wouldn't work the first night (the breaker kept kicking off and was very hot) and we figured out that the heat pump is rusted out and it runs only on emergency heat. They got it running Saturday afternoon, but it was frustrating for what we paid for the house. We didn't use the BBQ because it rusty and old. My overall feeling was that it wasn't worth what we paid, as the house needs some serious attention, restocking, replacing and not being so cheap with things like dishwashing soap (you get 4 tablets for 4 days).

Very happy
We stayed here with 4 adults and 2 kids (a 3.5 year old and 8 month old) and two dogs. The house was spacious and plenty of room for everyone to spread out in privacy. The working fireplace was great for the November colder weather (you can buy wood and starter kindling at the new local Fresh Foods store about 5 minutes away). We were a bit hesitant on getting to the beach based on prior review comments, but it was quite easy and only a 5 minute walk. Once you walk out of the house, you cross S Hemlock (carefully, but it's not too dangerous if you pay attention) and then just walk straight on the dedicated wooden beach path. The 3.5 year old loved the carpeted red-room secret play area full of toys and Lincoln Logs. The dumb-waiter was super helpful to load luggage or groceries from the garage up to the kitchen area and top floors. We had 2 cars and they fit fine in the garage. The kitchen is well equipped, although with an electric stovetop and electric oven, I wouldn't call this a gourmet kitchen - it worked completely fine for us, but it wasn't top-of-line. Our two negatives both are understandable and were dealt with fine. The first was a broken hot water heater - when we arrived there was zero hot water anywhere. I called the 24 hour Vacasa rental hotline on a Sunday morning and within 10 minutes the local property manager had called me back and came out to the house personally. He stayed there on site and arranged for an emergency plumber to come and repair the leaking tank. Within a few hours we were up and running for the week. So other than the issue itself, it was handled extremely well, especially for a Sunday. We also were there during a torrential rain and wind storm and noticed a few places where the skylight was leaking and dripping onto the floor and kitchen countertops. It wasn't horrible, but it was enough to move the table a bit and put towels down to catch it. Luckily the leaking was only at night during our stay, so there wasn't an impact to our experience, but there could have been under different circumstances. We let the managers know about this also and they are looking into it. The bottom line is that we had a great week's stay and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The views absolutely can't be beat and I would have been happy to stay inside the entire time, just drinking coffee and watching Haystack Rock and the ocean views. We would certainly consider staying here again without hesitation.

This house was awesome!
I have just returned from 2 weeks in Cannon Beach at this wonderful dog-friendly home with a hot tub. I parked myself there and my adult children came in from across the U.S. The house is filled with little surprise areas that everyone loved. The beds were very comfortable, the sunsets were great, as well as the conversations in the hot tub. The only thing worthy of note is that there is a dangerous curve in which the house is located across the street from the stairs to the beach. If you are bringing children, keep them with you and cross with caution!

Great location and enough space for everyone to enjoy
Very good location and the neighbours / neighbourhood was very accommodating and friendly. Of course the beach and the fires we shared on it were a key highlight. The only constructive feedback I have is that there were many cold showers taken during the week. We had someone from the mgt company come out to take a look but wasn't able to resolve the issue. We managed just fine by staging our showers throughout the day. Overall I would recommend and stay again in the future!

Best vacation rental ever!
Our family of seven travels a lot and we love the Oregon coast. This time we chose to stay at Canon Beach and I tell you this may be our favorite rental yet! Pros: Breath taking views, plenty of space, tons of beds, two lofts, a hidden kids game room filled with toys, a hot tub with views of the beach, a beautiful jungle backyard and fantastic location directly across from Haystack rock-just across the street and down some stairs and your at the beach. You won't be disappointed. Cons: (and they are very minor) Needs a much larger water heater - runs out too fast for such a large home; The drive way is steep and tricky to maneuver into until you get the hang of it - so be careful going in and out. That said, stay here anyway we totally loved it!!!! and will definitely come back next time we travel to Oregon.

Perfect Vacation with Friends and Family
We had a wonderful weekend here for my 40th birthday. We had four couples and there was plenty of room to spread out. Many different rooms and layouts to accommodate different tastes and needs. It has great open space with phenomenal views (much better than in the photos) perfect for gathering and relaxing. It rained all weekend but we were perfectly content to play games by the fire. The hot tub was clean and . . . hot. Two nights was definitely not long enough! The only reason for the 4 starts instead of 5 stars was because there was a miscommunication about our arrival and the house was not ready at our check-in time. When I called the management company they were apologetic and accommodating. It was a rough start but it did not detract from our overall enjoyment of the experience. It will be our first choice for our next large group gathering in Cannon Beach.
