Lovely place, good staff, needs redecoration
Lovely old building in the countryside, helpful staff. But building desperately needs repairs and redecoration. Hasn't been painted for a very long time, leaking roof in several places, worn flooring. A great shame.

We were told on arrival that the spar pool was not working. Found out from users of the gym that it had been broken for weeks. We would not have booked if we knew this. Completely spoiled the stay. Staff were good but overall average at best. Will not revisit.

Average service in a beautiful, but tired hotel
Staff on reception were excellent. Bar staff were mixed. On our first night they had run out of nearly all meat dishes which we weren’t told about until we had tried to order . The room decor was rather tired. For service in the bar we frequently had to knock on the back door to get staff out to the bar. Sadly we don’t think we will be returning despite us visiting that area frequently.
