This is the most breathtaking HomeAway we have ever found. The surrounding vineyard and olive estate shows Tuscany at its most beautiful. The house itself is immaculate, quiet, fresh, charmingly decorated, and has everything you could dream of: upstairs, a master bedroom with a study loft and master bath, and in the upper stairwell outside the room a ladder to another loft with a skylight and single bed (claimed by our daughter). Downstairs there's a living room, another full bath, dining area, laundry room, and a compact but complete kitchen, as well as a covered patio with table and chairs outside that look over the front garden. There are lovely restaurants within a short drive of the estate, but we were also able to cook very satisfactorily when we didn't want to go out, and we could eat either in the dining room indoors or out on the patio when the weather was fine. Although there are neighbors on both sides, the sunny flower garden and lawn in front are enclosed and private (with a locking gate and hedges) and we felt free to do whatever we wished. On chilly evenings we warmed up by burning a log in the cheerful fireplace in the living room (Americans should note that the glass fireplace door must be closed to keep out the smoke because the fire functions efficiently in the way a wood-burning stove does rather than as an open fire). Weather during the days was a mixture of high clouds, sun, and some rain; we took stunningly beautiful photographs of the landscape and we had many wonderful walks all around. We had our own garden path leading to the pool, which is clean, refreshing, and beautifully situated. We are grateful to the owners for sharing their splendid Tuscan home, and grateful also to Barbara, who met us with the key and provided a welcome gift of wine, pasta, and essentials for dinner and breakfast the next morning. It was a perfect place to stay in Tuscany and we were sad to go. If we could live in this home all year round we would!
