Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Like: Shower had great water pressure. Staff very friendly. (very nice & helpful with information when checking in).
Dislike: Room very dark due to dark paneling and poor lighting. Sink had no stopper. Shower spicket was very loose. Wore slippers due to questionable carpet cleanliness. No dead bolt on door. Window covering needed a curtain to keep out light. (Overall - the place was very dated - needed an update).
It’s not the ritz, it’s better.
What it lacks in Francine’s, it makes up by being clean, affordable and quaint.
However the best part is the crew. Amazing friendly customer service. I cannot praise them enough.
The restaurant on the property is pretty decent too.
This one is it for me, I will never stay at another place when in the area.
Friendly greeting. Older property but well maintained & clean. Needs updating, especially carpet, pillows. Sad to see what Ben Franklin buys you now-a-days.
This property is not the Hilton, so if that is what you are used to, then probably not your place. If you are a small town person that loves the small feel then you will love it. The owners are amazing. Will definitely cone back and stay again.
I've stayed at budget friendly hotels/motels before, but there are standards for presentation.
Stayed when temps were in the mid 90's. They have a window ac unit. Walked in the room. Ac fins were coated with about 1/4 inch of dust/dirt. Turned unit on and smelled like pee and didnt work for 2hours, then not at all (probably due to the dust).
Window blinds were not private you could see from the outside in. Managed to use 3x bath towels to hang as a curtain for privacy. (For a good reason, some random dude kept smoking right outside our window for some weird reason).
Toliet was broke, keep running water all night. Tried to fix. Plunger/Flap defective, needs replaced.
All in all understandable for a low budget hotel.(Not really). But not at the price of $100 a night. Should be more like $75
Great spot for an overnight and recharge before heading back out to the woods. The room was good overall, the rug probably needs to be changed. The staff were great and accommodating, I really thought that their friendliness is the greatest asset for the property.
I stay here every year and I like the rustic look and feel. The rooms are always clean and the restaurant makes some really good food. People don't come to a small town in the middle of nowhere to sleep in a Hilton hotel. They come to embrace the culture and feel.
