Beautiful cottage surrounded by lovely landscaping. Just a 10 minute drive to the beach and roughly 15 minutes to downtown Charleston. You will enjoy spending time in this 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage right in the center of James Island. From the time you pull in the driveway, you will notice the attention to detail. Pack your bags for a trip to Charleston! The property is fully equipped with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, sheets, towels. In addition, there is toilet paper and paper towels. While staying at this property, you will enjoy the screened in patio with a dining table for 4. There are also two comfortable chairs for sipping your morning coffee on the porch. When you feel like going to the beach, don’t bother packing your beach chair as there are 2 chairs along with boogie boards and beach towels. When you come home from the beach, you may even want to use the outdoor shower! Very private shower and the back of the house. In the evenings, whether you want to go out or stay in, there are tons of restaurants close by. However, when you feel like staying in, there is a grill at the property and a perfect area outside great for cooking out and enjoying the exterior features of this home.

A short drive across the bridge to downtown. If you have an active day in the city the bath shower has the greatest water pressure with added jets. The studio unit sits in a residential area behind the main house on picturesque acreage.

The property is in a great location. Very clean and unique bungalow. The bathroom is nice and the shower was awesome. The only reason it isn’t 5 stars is the bed was not very comfortable. Would recommend adding a mattress topper or else it’s very stiff. Other than that we had a great stay.

Had an awesome time (as always) while visiting my son. Loved having the screened in porch for morning coffee and evening cocktails. Was able to cook for my son, his girlfriend, and a roommate one evening and then enjoy sitting around the fire pit. Truly a great property and location. Only downside is the amount of money I will now have to pay to build a screened in porch at home ;)

Enjoyed everything about the cottage. Very well decorated and everything you need. Seems like a great second home or vacation home for anyone. The entire house was warm and inviting. Totaled loved the indoor shower with the multiple jets and overhead, lights out. Had an outdoor fire almost every night, very relaxing.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The property/landscaping is beautiful to look at every day, we really admired the outdoor space. We also really appreciated the attention to detail in the cottage - lots of little things available for your use that most places wouldn't have. We do agree that the couch wasn't very comfortable (and is also not the same couch as in the photos), but to be fair, we wouldn't have used the couch as much as we did had we not had an unexpected visitor (Tropical Storm Debby) during our stay. But we were grateful to have the cottage to hunker down in for a few days.

Cute and secluded but close to everything
We really enjoyed staying at the bungalow. The location is perfect - close to beaches, downtown, N. Charleston, and lots of restaurants. The house was clean (aside from a few bugs - but it’s Charleston in the summer so that’s impossible to avoid) and had plenty of supplies for things we forgot (bug spray, paper towels, etc.). Josephine and David are super friendly and welcoming! The only minor complaint is that the bed is very low to the ground. Other than that, perfect stay!

The rental is very cute and clean. The shower is super nice. We did not use the outside shower - seems to be decent though. The kitchen was well stocked and the membership to the beach was a nice thought. However, we could not get it to cool down in there. I don’t think we got it below 78 degrees. So we were pretty hot at night in bed. Also, the love seat is way too small for being comfortable watching tv. We wanted to lay in bed since we couldn’t chill on the loveseat all that well. But there isn’t a tv in the bedroom. So, I would either get a bigger couch or put a tv in the bedroom. We are not big people at all and it was not comfortable for us to relax at night after a long day. But the thermostat trumped the small couch. Other than that the rental is cute and very nice yard and screened in porch.

This property was perfect for us. So serene and quiet. Loved the screened in porch, we had our coffee in the morning and ate out there too. Close to the folly beach and driving distance to downtown Charleston. The hosts David and Josephine were very personal, and their garden was beautiful. Perfect getaway for couples! Would definitely recommend for anyone who needs time away from the hustle and bustle of life. I will definitely rent this place again if we need to get away!
